Well then, you'll like the newest addition to my fleet of Eastern three-toed box turtles... She/he (too soon to tell) is about 3 months old. Born from the eldest of my clan, a mother thrice over.

It's doing a show in Auckland this afternoon. Recreating a dogfight to promote a TV show. I'll go and have a look. |

Here's a link to a zip file with 400+ pictures, 10 megapixel. It includes the ones I posted in original resolution, plus over 300 more. The file is over 2 gigs so keep that in mind when you start the download. There's really a lot of very good pictures here, it's worth it if you're into old planes. |

Being an R/C pilot, the existence of that plane is a big deal. I've built and flown many warbird models but never got to the Zero. Mainly cause some of the attendees at our meets were retired Pacific war vets, they hated that plane. Right or wrong the emotion was real in these guys so I backed off on the Z. My personal favorite was the Grumman F8F Bearcat,, One serious Hot Rod that never made the war. Too bad too, cause the airwar would have been over lickety spilt. |

What really sucks is that Howard Hughes designed and proposed that airframe from his racing.... Japan picked it up and put it into production, of course they stole the plans and reverse engineered from his original; but still thats gotta hurt. |
