Did I really read an argument above that stealing my tax dollars and giving it to some low life who is too lazy to get a job to buy his own health plan is better than covering the same low life from going to E.R. w/o coverage? Really?

At least with the E.R. interlopers it is emergent care, now we're going to cover them for every hang nail, splinter in the paw and aw hell.....I just don't feel like going to work today.......oh yeah, I don't have to be tied to a job anymore.....maybe I'll go paint a landscape or carve a sculpture or write a book.......

I'm thinking now that Auntie Nancy have given me health care so I won't have to be tied to some "day job" maybe I'll just be a conservation artist........spend my days hunting and fishing.

Who is John Galt?

If you haven't read "Atlas Shrugged", then now is the time. It is becoming a prophetic novel as the Looters and the Moochers gain control over the United States. The novel that is. : )

2 points. It's not nice to wish ill of anyone.

2. For much less tedious reading than "Atlas Shrugged" ( which was a prophetic and much referenced book on economic philosophy, told as a dystopian novel ) I'd suggest the works of Mack Reynolds, a sci-fi author who wrote economic sci-fi in a funny and entertaining way. Quite a bit more to my taste than Ayn Rand, the sugar coating makes the learning go down better.

Am I the only one on BadWeb who has health care insurance? Well, now you've all got a choice to make. Get insured or pay a fine! If you can't afford insurance, I will help you pay for it through my taxes. It is in my economic interest to have everybody covered by health care insurance. I want everyone and their family to be able to see a doctor because universal health care is cheaper in the long haul.

I've always had health insurance, that as a contractor I paid for directly myself. It covers me for catastrophic events, and has a deductible about equal to an emergency room visit. Being young and fit its exactly the coverage I need right now. It keeps from being a burden; and any other time I need medical care I just pay for it when I need it.

Guess what? It's not good enough for Obamacare. I'm going to have to pay hundreds of dollars more a month for a policy that will pay for an office visit when I have a cold. I don't need or what that level of coverage. But I'm a middle class white male so I can afford it right?

Freedom of choice is what you got;
Freedom from choice is what you want.

I think going insuranceless is NOW the way to go!! The fine is ONLY $615 per year. And with the new "pre-existing" clause,WHEN i get sick is when i sign up.We save boatloads of money this way..right?

Exactly! Think about it very carefully. The health care insurance industry is going to think about it very carefully and I'm confident they'll figure it out.

Cite the bill! Where in the bill is it stated that you must have a policy that will pay for an office visit when you have a cold? The answer is nowhere. That doesn't appear in the bill anywhere.

If we are going to debate the bill, then let's debate the bill. I don't waste my time debating BS that people just make up.

The Republicans have painted themselves into a corner. They have portrayed health care reform as Armageddon, the end of America as we know it. Now that health care reform has passed we must all now await the imminent Armageddon. If Armageddon does not come, and I don't see that anytime soon, the Republicans look really foolish. They staked everything on Armageddon and that's a really stupid thing to do. You've got to leave yourself with some wiggle room and the Republicans failed to do that.

The Republicans have hitched their wagon to Glenn Beck, tea bag, foaming at the mouth fanatics. That's 20% of the electorate at best. 20% makes a big fuss and bother on Fox but 20% doesn't win elections and elections matter in the U.S.

Read Glenn Beck's "Arguing With Idiots" and "Common Sense". They are great reads. I looked for Mack Reynold's books but our library doesn't have them.

If the people want despotism and tyranny, then that is what they will get. I have faith that the American People are smarter than to be fooled by the gross dishonesty and deceit of the Democratic Party. The Republican Party is the only thing standing guard right now. Like it or not, that is a fact. At this point, voting for a Libertarian is a vote for a Democrat and the Blue Dogs just proved that they will cave.

Pelosi is thrilled to have her approval rating beating Reid's by a 37% margin. His is 8%; hers is 11%.

"Cite the bill!"

Bullshit. You cite the bill where it contradicts his assertions.

I prefer to cite its authors and proponents of standing.

quote:

"We're going to control the insurance companies."

Vice President Joe Biden speaking on the health care bill, March 18, 2010

quote:

"It takes a long time to ... control the people"

Congressman John Dingell, Speaking on the health care bill

The bill nationalizes the student loan program to steal it's profits to support Socialized medicine.

The law's accounting assumes a half trillion in savings from medicare and imposes another half trillion plus in new taxes on Americans all while assuming that Doctors will accept a 20% cut in fees. Lie after lie, after new tax, after lie. There is no way that medicare will be cut a half trillion, no way doctors will accept a 20% cut in already meager medicare allowed fees, and no way our economy can stomach another half trillion plus in new taxes. It's idiocy in the extreme. Unless of course you are aiming to bring America to her knees. But to do that you'd also have to prevent our most productive farmland from being worked, oops, they're doing that too. Well, you'd also have to prohibit Americans from developing domestic sources of energy, oops, they're doing that too. But you'd also have to mortgage our future in the name of free trade with a nation that nefariously artificially pegs the value of its currency to our own, oops, they've done that too. You'd have to take over our banks and major automotive and insurance industry, oops...

The bill provides massive special considerations to the tune of $700,000,000,000+ for a few specific states (Nebraska, Louisiana, Florida, Connecticut) whose senators had to be bribed in order to vote for the thing.

In order to try to cut out some of the most corrupt parts of the law, you have to subvert and abuse and corrupt what is supposed to be purely a budgetary tool in order to rewrite the bill, but be sure to euphemistically refer to the process as "reconciliation."

Before the ink was dry, over a dozen states have challenged it on grounds that it is constitutional.

Bottom line, the fed gov lacks the right to require American citizens to purchase anything. That is a right that is reserved strictly for the people.

I like Nik purchase my own insurance. Costs me a whopping $120/mo. Covers nothing until I've spent $5K, then it covers everything. Perfect. Simple. Cheap.

I don't need the fed gov telling me that isn't good enough.

The collection and enforcement will be via IRS agents, 15,500 more of them just to support socialized medicine. That and over 150 new federal agencies.

This law is a big fat ugly pig. Americans reject it and the corrupt way it was jammed down our throats.

Unprecedented corruption, partisanship, and sleez.

I don`t know how to respond to an individual post so I will do it this way. You liberals must eventually get it through your thick skull that at some point all of us Tea Party members and Veterans are people who have laid our lives on the line for this country and are also the ones who when backed against the wall with no other alternative (Taxation without representation) have the capability to do something about it.
Continue to support socialists and depots and congressmen like mine who had admittedly never read the health care bill but still voted for it. When it all collapses around you and your kind we will be there waiting and we have the ability and equipment to deal with despot corrupt and unresponsive officials. Now before you get you collective "Lets be nice to the Terrorist so they can like us" feathers in a ruffle I am not saying take up arms and overthrow the Govt. But I am saying if it continues as is it will collapse under its own weight ( think New Orleans During katrina) I was there and the residents of N.O. were killing each other in droves over crap they were stealing and I am not talking food and water.
The current Govt. in washington is defying the will of the people and this cannot stand. Now I am not calling for the overthrow of the Govt. we are not there yet but if it does not change back to some semblance of our constitutional, represintative republic then it will collapse! and I say good riddance. I have given my life to this country Literally I have terminal cancer from my service to my country but that POS Obama says I need to give more! To people to lazy or stupid to do anything but vote Democrat!! I have had it with you left wing idiots and cant wait till you reap what you have sewn with this idiot we have there now For men and women like me will still be standing and we will take back this country by what ever means necessary. Oh and just so you idiots know the soldiers and law enforcement in this country by a wide margin agree with us not you so if you think that this Idiots will will be done if it all collapses think again they swore an oath to the constitution not Obama and the party he represents!
The very fact that some of you think this flag thing in Haiti is no big deal you make me sick!
If I get banned from posting again so be it I as a veteran have had enough!

I see M2me is being a "seminar caller" again.

He's spouting the NEW line that since the end of the world didn't happen this week, that it's all just peachy keen and the Republican's are paranoid fools.
Also the current, ongoing Pravda that Glenn Beck is a foaming at the mouth fanatic. Ok, I'll give you that. He's one of those "capitalist swine" and a "freedom lover". Not to mention a religious fanatic. ( he believes in a God! do you believe that? )

So, when Obama goes on his whirlwind tour shouting that the sky is not falling and the Rep's are paranoid liers, because none of the bad stuff they predicted has come true....... none of the bad stuff will have happened yet, and none of the good stuff either, yet it will be a great success for right thinking people..

Blake, are you "foaming at the mouth", you "moron"?

Bipartisanship is dead in the water for a long time to come as there is no such thing as a moderate Democrat anymore. They have shown that they are willing to burn the Reichstag in order to further their Socialist agenda. It is truly sad.

I am not a fan of John McCain but he must feel betrayed as he was a champion of bipartisanship in his actions in the Senate. His only reward has been getting knives repeatedly stuck in his back.

I again appeal for Badwebbers to take action by joining the Republican Party and voting this Socialist scum out of office this November and in 2012. A Libertarian vote is a wasted vote.

They will be voted out in November, but we cannot let up on the Republicans who only voted no for Political Preservation.Show them that if even one of them Starts slacking, they will be out in the next Elections. We need Leaders(of the voters will), not Followers(of the Popular Government Platforms).

Tom,

I had my shots, no more foaming at the mouth. : D I do get nauseated on occasion though. What I see happening in America literally makes me sick to my stomach. The lies, fraud, deceit, and corruption are truly literally sickening.

Caught a little of Glen Beck yesterday. Interesting. It's easy to see why the Progressives (patient Socialist & Communist revolutionaries) are attacking him so often. He's doing an outstanding job of revealing their strategy and tactics for all to see.

At first you might think, "nah, Beck is just paranoid and over the top." But then you look at history, and current events and his predictions that have come to pass.

I knew Obama was a Socialist before ever watching Beck, but I was not aware of the big picture and the history.

Emotion over reason? FAIL!

Welfare over freedom? FAIL!

"Social justice" over liberty? FAIL!

Lies over truth? FAIL!

Deceit over honesty? FAIL!

Corruption over integrity? FAIL!

Socialist government control over free market? FAIL!

The recent deplorable behavior of the Progressives/Socialists in congress marching in lock-step, literally, in direct defiance of their constituents will hopefully, God willing, be their downfall, but they are now once again out en'masse to trying to deceive Americans, lie after lie after lie. It is tough to abide in a civilized tone.

Beck made a very interesting point last night, the Progressives/Socialists would like nothing more than for their opposition to engage in hate and violence. By doing so, their opposition become marginalized and rejected by most Americans. He's dead right on that.

Look for them to plant their own bomb-throwers among the tea partiers to try to discredit them.

Chicago politics has gone national, again.

With so many proven liars, cheats, and blatantly corrupt politicians continuing to lead the Democratic party, I'm not sure if even a corrupt media can keep them in power. I sure hope not.

As the IRS is hiring 16,000 new agents to enforce our new Socialized health care system, people ought to start waking up.

I sure hope so.

Why was the Executive Order on Abortion signed in a dark basement instead of in public view?

Probably because it points out that BO and others flat out lied through their teeth when they said that government funded abortions weren't in the bill. The problem is that an Executive Order has no power to change legislation so it is worthless.

The real question is do BO, Stupak, and the others who changed their vote over this understand that the Executive branch of our government has no power to change legislation? Can they really be that ignorant of our Constitution? I find that hard to believe. That leaves them being... What?
