Please be advised, I am not interested in personal opinions, just advise. I've heard these kits are a pain to assemble for the average DIYer. Anybody have any experiences they'd like to share? Thanks |

None myself, but a friend of mine did one. Hardest thing for him was converting to Carb and getting rid of all the electrical gadgets he didn't want sticking out all over the place. He used the motor and the rims and sold everything else. Turned out to be a nice looking and sounding bike. |

Find a chopper forum if that is what you are interested in. BadWeB ain't about choppers, especially if they require chopping up a Buell motorcycle. |

Hey Blake, I can go to the classified section here and find parts all day to build choppers without having to touch a single complete bike. Sooo.... I think I'll stay here and keep asking questions. Let me reiterate, I don't want to here about anybody's personal beef about choppers, and I'm not intending to chop up any beloved buells!!!!! |

But the joke is so funny if you've seen the show. For some reason some of my co-workers want to apply the term to me. I just make motor noises as I keep on walking. It's been a year or two since I've seen him post but we had a guy here who had chopped his bike because of a back injury, due to posture and pain issues he preferred to keep and mod his own bike than buy a cruiser. If anyone knows the dude I'm referring to this would be a great time to pull him into the conversation. I've only read about the conversions, but the mutant brand is supposed to use pretty much everything including the wiring harness. We've had three or four dudes strip and rebuild there bikes in the Old School section just this year. Right Pk? Sorry Blake, I know this is your site but there are a few reasons in my mind a chopper kit is reasonable, physical limitations are certainly one of them. I would never chop either of my Buells unless there was no other way to keep riding them. |

I am familiar with the joke and the show. I'm a big south park fan, so here is the problem, they were referring to the behavior, not the bikes..... so why am I a "fag" because I like a certain type of bike (or several types for that matter). |

"I'm the same way with my D&D. Sure it sounds good at idle, but every time I get a chance, I give her WOT until about 6k RPM, then shift. That D&D has a great raspy decel sound between shifts too. If it's wrong, I don't wanna be right!" Phil, don't be a fag!!! |

A red herring for sure. In any case, a chopper forum is the place for the discussion, not this Buell forum. I'll not argue the issue further. |
