Hammer down, squashing your mud-duck radio with my 1500 watt heater, laid back reading the mail....

and I'm back out!

I remember driving one of these, it was going to be my first car what a tank!
4 barrel 440 and it weighed in at just shy of 5,000 lbs I remember it had some of the strangest features, hi and lo switching was done on the floorboards with a button along with the radio scanning.

I could tune the carbs sitting on the radiator and hanging my feet into the engine bay. now I cant change a spark plug without removing 20 things first.

I learned to wrench on one of these, my dad traded a motorcycle for it, it was built to run road course but we were never able to get it all together.

well being one of the kids in the generation the thread seems to be takling about i guess i'm obligated to chime in! haha my first car was a 93 wranger so it wasnt by any means a fast car, i dont think i ever had it to 75mph...} but i did have my fun with it......just not quite on the road.... after that i was on my dads transalp for the summer only had about 50hp to it, but plenty enough for learning how to ride with. that bike was a blast!!!! (still have it in our garage i just upgraded to my buell) then since

seriously we were lucky to have cars like mustangs, camaros and vettes.

i cant afford to have a buell and a sports car (at least a nice one) i bought a five speed accord) compleately stock no loud exhaust or subs or anything, just a drive on rainy day thing (and till i get my bike fixed) i've got friends w/ mustangs and camero's but just not my type of vehicle...i miss my wrangler a bunch and will be getting another one once i save up money again (i'll probably sell my accord to my little sister for like $600 eventually.

I do like to laugh at the punks with their civics with cat back exauhsts that sound obnoxious and then red line their cars everywere, and then some kids have the subs that litterally turn your music into just loud vibrations.

"I remember it had some of the strangest features, hi and lo switching was done on the floorboards with a button"

Ummm ... at one time all cars used that method for hi and lo. I borrowed an early 240Z in the 70s that had the hi-beams on the stalk and for the whole week I had it I never figured out how to switch them. No pedal! Personally I think the pedal is lot easier to use.

I'm 23. i DD a 1983 ford ranger with a 5.0/5speed and my current project car is a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7.

All these import guys are nuts. we have a few that run with our lil car group here in texas, they can be pretty fast on the highway but when you start talkin to them about all the money they have spent to get there... just sounds like they ruined a perfectly good daily driver for alot of money LOL

What Tex said. I cannot understand why somebody would pour thousands of dollars into a FWD import when a 5.0 Mustang could be bought and hotrodded so cheaply and with better results. I have owned a couple of those and they are great tail-wagging fun. I don't understand the kids these days (in my best Grandpa Simpson ranting tone).
