It's buggin' the hell outta' me. Does anyone else think it looks a bit... off? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but it seems a bit, I dunno, amateurish for a company of that caliber...? Maybe it's just me? (It'd be just my luck if Erik drew it himself...)  ~SM | ||

It is what it is. The purpose of logos are to be distinctive and to convey to a person looking, with nary a thought, the identity of the company. Given some of the epic battles with Mobil oil or a less "sharp" looking Pegasus, this is likely the closest that anyone could get without incurring another couple hundred thousand in legal fees. The one thing it does . . .already . . . is immediately let you know PRECISELY what company you are dealing with. It's not my personal favorite over the years but the most important thing now is to be consistent, stick with it and display it consistently. I also think you'll like the way it looks on shirts, hats and frisbees. | ||

Hahahahaha . . . same policy applies to frisbees as to exhaust systems . . . you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. We were gonna force people but the last time I beat someone into buying a frisbee it got ugly.  Same reason I still have these cases of "The Race is On" Buell Racing guitar picks . . folks thought it was too lame so I have a lifetime worth of great picks. | ||

Court,I would love to have a pick for my collection .I have fond memories of conversations with Erik at Road America and a couple of other Homecoming locations about playing Blues guitar and how much we both loved our Stratocasters. Other than the lack of symmetry to the icon making it look as tho it is not centered over the words...I like it. Court- care to share any of the picks? I play a little guitar, and would love a pick or 3 for my collection! | ||

The head I think is what keeps drawing my attention, and the way the proportions don't match the previous design. Everything's angled except for the ears, which are funny little curves. Personally I liked the look of the Erik Buell Racing logo. I thought that the Pegasus was more aggressive looking than in the past, and definitely different than with HD. I liked the type style used. Erik Buell in Bold, and racing in more of normal font. Modern looking type. Racing could easily be replaced with: Motorcycles, Parts and Accessories, Cars, depending on which part of Erik Buell's company you are dealing with. I think the logo on the sides of the tank would look good, kind of like how the classic Honda logos looked on the tanks in the 60's. Just the logo, no wording. Everyone knew it was a Honda. Hopefully, everyone will know it is a Buell. | ||

Funny, HD is know as the American Iron Horse with a bald eagle as a icon! Buell which was financed by HD had to come up with a icon which is horse. I think EBR should have used a horses a$$ instead of the head on his 1190RR IMO hehe. I hope that EBR when the non-compete is over, becomes a new leader in American Sport Bike's once again. Not only do I hope he becomes a new leader in sport bike's but builds a couple of cruiser's to burn HD for being a horse's a##. After riding my 1125R I will follow EB and buy his newest bike if I am able to afford it. HD should announce it's future plans with Buell 1 to maintain customer relation's 2 to stop the bashing if HD plans to sell Buell's once again under EB. So as you see in this EB has his market and HD has there's the question does HD want a part of EB sell's? I don't care one way or the other because EB sell's my style of motorbike! Thanks Erik Buell you saved more than 1 American from having to buy RICE! | ||

I think that's the best logo yet. Logos should be simple and recognizable. It's what they neede, stick with the pegasus as we know it, but make it more agressive. my Buell decals came off in the last heat wave and after seeing the new logo they won't go back on. I want the new logo on my airbox | ||

I think it would suck if it was several colors. It speaks to my minimalist side, simple and directly to the point. Works in either black ink on a lighter background or white ink on a dark background. On a practical side, the black ink is cheaper than colors and few printers can manage to screw it up when you are printing fliers or business cards or anything else. I'm good with it until he starts putting a chrome statue on the front of every bike like a few car companies. I was just thinking that this logo would look good cut out of black reflective tape on my white air box, need left and right sides. I might even have enough material to do it once I get the letters removed. Might look good in the frame too, would look better if I didn't have the pucks as I could wrap it around the corner. | ||

Court, when can EBR begin selling reproduction Buell parts? From what I understand, very little was manufactured at H-D(spit) facilities, but rather built at supplier facilities and the parts were assembled at East Troy. There are parts that seem to be drying up in the supply chain. One more thing.... Can I have a couple of picks also?...Can I? | ||

I know this is a pegasus, but if my memory serves me correctly from my horse riding days, when a horse, or horse like creature, is in charge, aren't the ears pinned back for protection? I totally dig the logo! | ||

I kinda prefer the Buell oval logo but that sure wasn't the reason I purchased the motorcycle in the first place. I bought a 2006 XB12X because it was the best motorcycle I ever rode and still is today. The logo is just an emblem to identify a product and has NOTHING to do with the actual product itself! |
