At least the Patriot Act was temporary. It was passed with an expiration date to deal with a temporary situation brought on by extraordinary times. BOcare is the exact opposite. It is meant to be permanent and something to which they can build upon. |

It was passed with an expiration date to deal with a temporary situation brought on by extraordinary times. I believe that once the Patriot Act was in danger of expiring someone extended it, I wonder who that was... |

I believe that once the Patriot Act was in danger of expiring someone extended it, I wonder who that was... Exactly! How do you spell hypocrisy? |

Most countries that we compete with economically have health care costs in the single digits of GDP. What are we doing wrong? I reject this premise. Most countries with universal health care also have a VAT tax of 15-20% on top of the legacy taxes. Add 15% to the single digit GDP and you are close to the total costs. It isn't so pretty now is it? |

The United Kingdom has socialized medicine (The National Health Service). I left the UK 20 years ago. I paid 25% income tax (Progressive rates apply to this based on income). I also paid 10.75% National Insurance Surcharge (This covered my State Pension Benefits and the NHS). Also, Value added tax on purchases ran at 15% ( I believe it is a lot higher now). So, basic income tax = 25% of earnings + 11.75% of earnings. Total 36.5% total tax on income + 15% purchase tax (VAT). As a "wage slave" taxes were deducted directly from my pay packet. (PAYE) If I had paid too much at the end of the F/Y I got a credit for the following F/Y. If I had paid too little my deductions increased for the next F/Y. This is an example of the true cost of socialized medicine to the individual wage earner. Chris C |

Socialists are liars by default. If they were honest, few would vote for them. Their ideology enslaves people to the state. History and facts prove it. Just ask the working people of Cuba, Venezuel, and California. |
