Isn't that nice. HD wants to encourage racing and sport riding now. It's named for and only approves the V&H kits on the XR1200. Afraid the XB would kick their asses I suppose. But wow, all that bike for $3500? what?...... that's not the bike?....... that's just the "kit"?.... the bike is how much?...... Oh F that. |

I just joined and posted if they would let firebolts or xb12 s/ss in those races and then someone who paid way less than 10 K can stomp the arse of the xr chrome cow |

Racing is on our roots and racing is in Harley's DNA What a crock of shit. How can someone say that with a straight face? Absolutely criminal. |

Fresno, I was going to quote that same line. If racing is so in their blood, why do they only sell cruisers? ~SM |

Has anyone ever stopped to think that Harley killed Buell only to wait a year or so then bring back the 1125R with an HD tag on it? I know it sounds like I'm drinking the coolaid but things like this would point to HD trying to create a racing arm. |

>>Fresno, I was going to quote that same line. If racing is so in their blood, why do they only sell cruisers? << Because every time the bring out a good handling, modern, cornering clearanced bike, like the FXDX, Street Rod, or XR1200X - hardly anybody buys one. Go figger, shrugs. |

They gotta figure out some way to get rid of all those damn XR1200's cluttering up dealerships. |

sorry dave, i don't think i would like to take any of those bikes up to suches, deals gap or any other mountain road anywhere. i don't know how much difference there is between and fxd(which we had a 2000) or fxdx but i couldn't ride that fxd to daytona from tampa without it killing me and i really didn't like the way it handled either. |

"Because every time the bring out a good handling, modern, cornering clearanced bike, like the FXDX, Street Rod, or XR1200X - hardly anybody buys one." How true. All sweet riding bikes. All capable of riding Suches, Deals Gap, ect. As far as distances go, that's a matter of conditioning. I have friends who trailer up from Ft. Lauderdale to Daytona for Bike Week, where I have ridden a bicycle further than from Daytona to Tampa. |

>> i really didn't like the way it handled either.,< If you said that about a FXDX It wasn't set up right or it was faulty. No sports bike - but a tidy turning unit in good order. Air adjustable Showas. FXD is a different kettle. I'd take a street rod anywhere. Best bike they ever made - by some margin. XR1200X is also very tidy till it makes hard contact. XR1200 = $10,000 + $3,500 = $13,500. Running weight 562 lbs Buell XB12R = $10,299 + $500 = $10899 Dry weight 395 lbs, 500 is for the old Buell Race package Sorry it's still a PIG With a Buell you still have money to go to the track. It looks to me that this is a Vance & Hines thing. Harley has nothing involved except the bike. |

Shill- person who is paid to help another person or organization to sell goods or services. The shill pretends to have no association with the seller/group and gives onlookers the impression that he or she is an enthusiastic customer (in this case CycleNews and RoadRacingWorld.) |

Pig is too harsh. Yeah It's slow-as on a race track, true. It's still pleasant to ride. I call it a 'Standard'. Nice street bike |

It's not that it's a bad bike. It's that it's a giant corporate goat screw. Think of it this way, the failure of the XR1200 bike burned money that could have kept Buell alive. WAY over budget, and NO domestic demand. The only thing that sucked more was the Rocker. |

Guys, you are all missing something very important. Six weeks ago HD was very close to not being here in 2011. There were plenty of folks betting on them not making it much past June. Now we have them sponsoring something of a race series. This is a huge turnaround for the existing management team. Maybe good things are happening. They still own Buell and Eriks license is up Dec.31 2010. My bet is that something will be announced around August, may still be goin belly up, but I would bet on leaner Harley network and production making them profitable. If the XR series does anything positive I would bet on EBracing becoming something we will all care about. I currently own three Harley and three Buells so I am an unbiased observer. |

Sure hope you are right Paul. As much as I disdain the HDI decision. I'd welcome very much them reversing course on that. |

Buells trouble reminds me a lot of that old movie about Ulysses' travails in returning to home. Harley Corporate is all about people with power bases and agendas. They really do tend to get in the way and trample us mere mortals for no apparent reason. Watch that movie sometime, a lot of that is applicable to those of us that will never see FU type of money. Unless of course I hit the 139 million in powerball Saturday. |

HD poop the bed on this one. HD a chance for a world class race bike with little effort on HD part. Now supporting a new self serving club racing class. I don't get it, know trying to explain it ain't worth it. I wish Erik all the luck in world with his knew machine on the world stage. |
