The family and I have a possible opportunity to relocate to the area. Any impressions and or opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Marcus

You will find some of the best sportbike roads that you have ever ridden or seen. Huge variety of riding just within the SF-Bay Area.

Housing prices high, but the lowest they've been in years. SJ per se can be a bit sucky to live in, but numerous towns/cities within just a few miles are great (I live over the hill in Santa Cruz, 20 miles from SJ).

Very active sportbike community. Some places of note:
Alices Restaurant
Sunday Morning Ride
Zeitgeist
Laguna Seca
Infineon
Mts. Tam, Diablo, Hamilton and Twin Peaks
Moto Java

etc., ad infinitum

I remember some summer days in Santa Clara that were blissful (you should check out Santa Clara as well). 75-80 deg, slight breeze if any...you'll find a lot of perfect weather.

Santa Cruz and the boardwalk are fairly close.
There used to be an amusement park around close.

The saddle rack : ) of course that was 20 years ago don't know if it's still there.

The 'rack's still there, but in a diff location.

Boardwalk is really a place to be avoided unless you like too many tourists, the overwhelming smell of various suntan oils, and really bad food.

That suck's : ( we'd hang the boardwalk in the morning then head to the rack in the evening.
Used to be a big place that was always hoppin. Did many a shots in the barber chair.

Thanks to all. I've been getting some good info as my former college roomie and a neighbor are from that area. If there are any other opinions, i'd welcome them.
