That is awesome!! Ducxl-Ducati had a cut-away motor at the Minneapolis IMS that you could rotate the entire assembly and see the valves working. One profile to open, one to close-if I understood how it works correctly.
I feel bad for BMW tho,Ducatis' don't USE power robbing valve springs. Ducxl, Don't feel bad for BMW. At a claimed 193HP, it's doing just fine.

Thats really neat. Just a small idea of whats going on inside a motor when you grab a fistful of throttle. I like Ducatis. The styling, sound, handling, etc. The only thing that ever kept me from buying one is the valve system. I cant see paying someone 4-6 hours of labor to adjust them. One of those videos of a Duc valve system would be neat too.
Many many years ago, I was building engines for a Ford race shop and a guy came around to show us an adjustable valve arrangement that he was going to show to Ford engineering. basically it had a wedge that was fed into the valve to change the valve timing/lift instead of changing the throttle opening. He used a CV carb arrangement and controled the throttle linkage via a vaccum diaphragm. It worked and he had a very leaky rocker cover with plexiglas windows to see what was happening. So the above reminded me of that, that is why I wrote all that.
