Do the price conversion. I did awhile back and can't remember exactly what it was but I do remember it was more than I paid for my house. Not only do they cost alot but IMHO they're ugly and if you're just going to seal yourself up in an egg why not buy a car. A nice Corvette could be had for that price.
+1 They just need to get a small car for crying out loud. Most non bikers (and some bikers) seem to miss the point. Its the wind, the speed, the power, the sound and the control. Without it, one may as well get some econo cage. Getting good gas milage is just an extra.
Once I get the engine cooling all figured out, I plan on building a full enclosure on one of my bikes (probably XB). 100+ mpg from a 1203cc engine and higher top speed, whats not to love?
They've been around for a while, I thought they'd faded into obscurity... but sounds like they've made a few. http://www.monotracer.com/ Early versions used BMW K100 running gear, not sure what they use now but they claim 65mpg. Except for the price, I kinda like the idea of one for long distance work.
I won't say they are not worth a look at for some, but it certainly isn't what I want. I like my Lighting naked, light, nimble and fast! When a bike has need for defrosters something seems to be lost.
I'd LOVE to have a completely enclosed motorcycle. I have to wear suit and tie for work. I don't get to commute for work on a bike. I'd love to have something I could ride/drive for work that would be more like a motorcycle than a cage.
The price is stupid. I'd have to believe they could do better. Make it Spyder price, and I could make that happen.
