Hey Froggy, when your odometer gets as high as mine is, we'll compare notes. I ain't sayin' one's better then the other, I will say however, my little XB9 makes me grin like no other, and I've had plenty of others! Y'all enjoy your bikes, no matter what they are. We 3%ers have never told anyone they ride an inferior bike. We know, it's not what you ride, only that you ride.

We were selling them before the announcement. We were selling them after the announcement. I sold one today. Those not WORKING to sell Buells had them on the floor. Others were moving them nicely, thank you. |

A broken 1125, say it isn't so. Now that's UGLY, it's amazing that the only good looking parts on that bike (tail plastics and wheels)are taken from the XB. |

" These were demo units, back in March 2008, when you couldn't get 1125's because of the backorders. " Thought that looked like a demo row since all the tags were the same. I sat on the first 1125 annapolis got in dec 07 and was offered the next one due in jan 08. A bit short supply at first but not too short. |

Froogy, I can assure you that XB next to my 1125CR is not, and never has been broken. The 1125CR has so far spent more time in the shop than my other 9 air cooled Buell's combined. |

As long as we're being cocky... I might as well add my 2 cents. The mechanic working on that XB would easily beat you around any track of your choice on it. You bring your CR or 1125R to homecoming and do the track day, and if you can keep up to the mechanic on the XB, I'll pay for your track day. My bet is he'd lap you on it, in about 8 laps |

Pictures Steve's mechanic all suited up like "The Stig" on Top Gear. Never know who's hiding under that helmet. |

Hey Froggy! I completely forgot about that picture! Keep in mind I'm just holding the wrench for Spidey, I'm not much good in the morning before I finish the first Diet Pepsi.. because it's still in my hand, the first one isn't gone yet.. BTW, my old "Air Head" S2 is just out of the picture, it ran fine all weekend! Still does.. Thanks for posting the MBV pics, keeps us snow bound northerners busy thinking about spring. This all goes back to our thread a few weeks back about maintenance. You are a higher skill than me when it comes to this stuff, so minor breakages you can repair in a few minutes can easily be looked past. I on the other hand, botched reinstalling a clutch cable, and right now I am fighting to get a piece of crap $1000 muffler to come off my bike. My point is, yea your other bikes probably have never been to the shop, because you can fix them when something goes wrong. My Uly - In the shop for several weeks combined during my 7 month ownership. Bearings, fans, brake rotor, plug wires, headlight bulb, and all the usual crap that breaks on the XB. My SS - I started doing more on my own, so it was only in the shop for the stator, the VR, brake line, and the fuel pump during my ownership. I replaced burned out bulbs, blown fuses, clutch cables, and 3/4 of the bike with help of others. My Blast - This one hasn't seen any shop time yet (will this weekend). Carb boot leaks, it makes a rattling sound from the left footpeg during idle, the mirror keeps coming loose, it grinds gears when shifting, and often gets stuck in a false neutral during 3-4th shift. I tried playing around with the primary adjuster but made it worse. It is going to better hands this weekend. 1125CR - Burnt out tail light bulb. It also started doing the low fuel light thing when its parked outside below like 30°F, but that isn't anything I am worried about and I will have it fixed during the next service. It also has a problem with staying upright. 1125R - Nothing. Nada. It runs fantastic, even better than my CR. My only complaint is the gas mileage, I can easily average 40mpg on the CR while peaking at 53mpg, the R struggles to get into the mid 30's, but the engine is still tight so I can't complain yet. |

I've never done a track day, I am sure I would be easy pray Is there still room for that one? I have been debating doing it.

That's okay Froggy, you could have done 100 track days, you still wouldn't beat this "mechanic" I'm sorry you're having difficulties with you XB. But that's no reason to take it out on others by bashing their ride of choice. It's rude, and bad form IMHO. We haven't started taking orders yet for the track day. Still working on details. And not 100% sure it's even going to happen unless we get more responses. So far, my survey shows approximately 30% of what we need to sign up, and sell the event as "Buellers Only" event. |

I ain't one of those, but I am a 1125 owner and a tuber owner. Bought my '97 Cyclone new and still have it. Love them both equally and neither one is gonna leave, but I will be adding more. I have no hate for any of the models...No real Bueller should! |

All the remarks about the superioriity of the water bikes are foolish and pretentious. The aircooled bike is the real deal...that's the Buell I know. I took my X1 into SF yesterday for a meeting with two architects. The weather was warm, the rude 1250 sounded great and handled well. If you gave me a water pod Buell, I'd ride it twice and sell it. |

So sad Froggy. Does your holier than thou attitude creep into all areas of your life or just in the relative safety of an internet chatroom? |

You guys are right, I was being excessive and what started out as a little joke snowballed. I have been burned before with tons of little issues on my air cooled bikes. My SS is currently at just over 40k miles, and those last few thousand miles were riddled with stupid crap breaking like a shift linkage and clutch cable. I rode the 1125CR and fell in love instantly. It was everything I loved in the XB, but with more power and more manners. More power, smoother running, more comfortable, better handling, and a bad ass look. It was everything I always wanted, and at the same time I never knew that I wanted. It fits me better than my XB did. I can almost imagine Erik sitting there in a board meeting with the picture of the 1125CR, and said "There is a fat kid in NY that would be all over this like free cheeseburgers!" I just wish my right wrist would heal, that way I can actually squeeze the brake lever and do some stoppies again Again, I am sorry. I do secretly lust over the X1, and plan on adding one to the stable one of these days, when I don't have two bike payments coming out every month. 99 race stripe with PM wheels and the fan kit... One can dream.

I think all Buells are amazing machines, but have only spent my own money on a Blast, two X1's, an XT, and an S3 (frame only) I still own all but the Blast (which I regret selling) even though they're all primitive and unreliable air cooled models. I love the XT with all of it's refined XB qualities and reliability, but it will never provide the same grin factor as my X1's or any other tube frame model. That's not to say that one is better than the other, they're just different. When I want to tear around like a hooligan and wake the neighbors I'll ride the X1. If I want a refined, even more comfortable ride over a long distance then I'll ride the XT. When it comes to the 1125's, I love the looks of the CR, can stomach the looks of the R, and I'm not too proud of my air-cooled bikes to admit that the liquid cooled powerplant has a lot to offer. However, I PERSONALLY don't get the same satisfaction out of riding the 1125's. Why were 1125's priced thousands less than XB's during the fire sale? Because not as many people wanted one. That doesn't mean that they're not as good as an XB or inferior in any way, it just means that liquid-cooled Buells are a niche within a niche. (Message edited by pkforbes87 on February 17, 2010) |

I love this place. I have to admit that I have fun in debating someone who passionately defends a losing position or opinion. But, hey it's all in fun, mostly. Or should be. I'll also admit that I have gone through my share of bikes, and still have a BMW "AirHead" and a HD "ShovelHead" that I have been riding, both for over 25 years. Those older air cooled motors scream character, my Cyclone and XB12R may not be the fastest or smoothest, but they are simple and based on the lowly Sportster, so parts will be available virtually forever. Having ridden the 1125s, I can say, fast, smooth, and good handling. But they to me are closer related to Suzuki/Yamaha/Honda for it lacks the character and soul of the Harley Davidson motors. And parts availability, now with no dealer backing? That's my story and I'm stickin to it. *Cheers. *thanks to our brothers from across the pond |
