Spiderman Posted on Saturday, February 06, 2010 - 04:57 pm: -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ BTW, how many of you that don't like snowblowers have loud pipes on your bike? eh Spidey? Yeah but I am not across the street revin the motor for 30 min Listen, just turn up the volume on the tv so you can hear Oprah, and let your husband take care of the snow removal. Dude, no man prefers manual labor over power equipment. |

And that is why this country is going to hell, people afraid to do some real work... But I guess watching the Lions all these years made you that way? "Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work." |

And you own zero power tools, right? There are many reasons a person who isn't afraid of work would want a snow blower. Sorry, but crying about a snow blower, leaf blower, etc is puss move. As motorcyclists, we can't bitch cuz the government makes stock motorcycles sound lame from one side of our mouth then cry about the occasional outdoor power equipment. |

Apparently you didn't read my previous posts... If you have property cool, if you love where Newfie does and have 30 ft snow falls, cool, If you are the d-BAG in Suburbia where the houses are 10 ft apart and using a snow blower on a half inch of snow or a leaf blower on a small pile of grass clippings, they yes you are a lazy prick. And loud bikes is a non sequitur in this discussion... |

So you're saying if I were to buy this house-- I won't need to buy this-- Ok, my lazy ass is feeling the 14 hour shift helping get trucks un stuck at the terminal then driving 622 miles all night into the hardest hit areas of the most recent storm on my night off after my typical 55 hour work week. I'm goin to bed. Go shovel in front of my garage door. The maintenance people plowed it in good. |

We had 19" here Friday night. I shoveled snow for nearly seven hours yesterday, just to get a car path to the street. Still have another 5 hours or so to get the driveway completely cleared. All manual labor, and it sucked. Not sure what kind of snowblower you can use in that much snow...Neighbor next door was outside trying to use the snowblower, but gave up pretty quickly. What I need is an ATV with a plow blade on the front. At least then I could use it for other things. |

Hi Guys We got 26 inches in Baltimore and it looks like I'm snowed in for another couple of days in my Neighborhood. I came home from Kentucky on Thursday night to beat the storm, which was good but then had to shovel all day yesterday! I hate snow!!! |

Many areas along the Pa turnpike (I-76) had snow banks 4-6 feet. Over night Friday and into Saturday afternoon it was so bad in the somerset area that traffic was stopped for hours on the highway and they were plowing snow banks at the exits of the service plaza so people wouldn't try to get back on the road. One of our guys was stuck in that mess for 14 hours. The national guard was taking water and meal rations to the stranded travelers with snowmobiles. He had the meatloaf, and thought it was pretty good. |

And this is why my back hurts today. 33", had to dig out the ol' 4-wheel Ulysses LOL. Also dug out the diesel (far right). Her Liberty (far left, still buried)...just too low to the ground to be much good right now. Might work on it today. But the garage door is clear too, so when the roads are pavement again...I'M RIDING!!!

We only got around 10 inch's here in ohio. but I had to work 16.5 hours friday and 10.5 saturday plowing streets. If it wasn't for the H3 I wouldn't have gotten anywhere. My biggest complaint about the snow is people. you work hours and hours plowing streets. And you get people that come out to the truck and scream at you for putting snow in their driveway. it makes you feel real good about working 16-18 hour shifts. Needless to say those people will get the most snow in their driveway I can get. they don't understand that when the guy plowing the streets gets home he has to do the same thing as everybody else SHOVEL. |

Hate to say it...but I did take advantage of the plow guy. Saw him coming, still had the 'bank' at the end of the drive (I started at the jeep and worked out). So...I just drove the jeep through it, pushing it out into the street. He came by, waved, and pushed it right along the road. Presto - a relatively clear driveway (at least the Jeep knocked it down from about 40" to about eight). That's why the grill of the Jeep is a wall-o-snow |

New York City missed Snowmagedden yesterday but it was COLD in Times Square. I ducked in to the Majestic Theater and caught the matinee performance of "Phantom of the Opera" to escape the cold. |

Ratbuell, You might want to think about shoveling off your roof. It might not be that heavy now but when things warm up or you get a rain that is going to really stress your trusses. |

Yeah, it's a tossup right now. On the one hand...there's the titanium in my legs and a strong desire not to go up on a slippery roof, paired with good insurance coverage on the house. On the other hand...there's the weight. Of course, I could take the easy way out and hook a garden hose to hot water in the bathroom, and just water-melt it.....hmmmm.... |

I suppose I should not mention that I commute to work by snowmobile at every opportunity that I get? And yes I use a snowblower when I need to and I do not own a leaf blower but I use a mulcher attachment on my riding lawn mower but considering that I have about 3 acres to mow the push mower is used just for trimming. But then again my closest neighbor is about half a mile a way. And yes I love snow but the only draw back I see is that my M2 doesn't like the snow very much. Still budgeting for the Uly... |

lets bump this sucker right back to the top. I went to work today and down came a all staff e-mail to my in-box "the lab will be closed Feb 10, 2010 Due to the hazardous weather we are about to receive." Man I just got out of my street yesterday! And got to work today! This is crazy! K |

Can't catch a break. It's snowing AGAIN! I'm gonna have to dig out the igloo that I started yesterday. What really sucks is that work is closed but I'm 'mission essential'. So the rest of the shop is gonna sit on their arses all week while I keep digging out and going to work everyday. And there are 4 of those basturds that sit my post... but will they offer to? NOOOO! |

Here's the shot out of my back door. The barn is less than 100 yards from the house. And at this point, I don't think I'll EVER need that tiki torch again! Time to go shovel...something.

Same here. It's nuts. Kids have been out of school for 15 days now. My snowplow-equipped RTV is stuck in a drift...and now it's blowing in gusts up to 50mph and 20F. And I'm still trying to figure out how to get my bike down to the road. |
