Char, when I heard about the Earthquake this morning I thought about this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Madrid_Seismic_Zo ne In fact most of us went to work early to see if we would be required to do anything. False alarm thankfully. It was on our minds because it has been a topic of discussion lately. We play a lot of "what if" scenarios.. Your new company looks to be doing very well: "BBNC generated nearly $1.4 billion in total revenue during 2009. This is the third consecutive year in which revenues exceeded $1 billion. The rate of growth in BBNC’s revenues slowed to approximately 8% in 2009. " |

TONS of good riding in the Baraboo area, i ride quite a bit around there. Waunakee or Middleton will make your commute a PITA. Until the ferry starts running again, you'll have to drive around, thru Sauk or on the Slab. You might want to consider DeForest, it's right on the "I", and is the epitome of bedroom communities in the area. Or, if you're looking to get away from it all, there's a little place for sale just downriver from here... Congrats on the new job, and good luck house-hunting. |

The "exclusion zone" is also known as the "hot zone" or otherwise known as "where they might be blowin' shit up"!!! I once was in a "buffer zone" next to an "exclusion zone" inappropriately at Louisianna Army Ammunition Plant... an active plant... my firts job right out of college... I got my a$$ chewed out by the entire Army chain of command... took about an hour and it was four people yelling at me for what felt like eternity... so I already knew that when Health and Safety told me that today... and they yeld at you for a good reason i'll bet. right before i finished up my last half year of my apprenticeship with the carpenters down in miami i went to work for the elevator constructors. got assigned with the adjuster for a while and one time when he was in the pit doing some work i took a peek to see what he was doing and he jumped all over me for doing that. he told me that you can't trust these things and never do it again. well a couple weeks later my buddy was runnning the bank of america job and they were working on the elevator and one guy was in the pit when he realized that he needed something that was in the car. he stuck his head out of the pit to tell his partner to get what he needed and without thinking the guy jumped in the car and for some reason the hydraulics gave. being the super on the job my buddy didn't want to give the job of cleaning up the mess to anyone else. that scared the crap out of me and added to why i didn't stick that career out amoung a few other things. stay safe and hope your job works out good for ya. |

Hopefully this is not considered a thread hijack but I just got a job offer tonight! I am in my thirteenth month of unemployment and now I have a great job offer doing chip design. The job market in San Diego has been bleak but maybe things are picking up. |
