I mean... wake up, to 12-16" white snow everywhere is beautiful... I can hear things i could not before. I hear the wind kick up... trees creaking, I hear faintly, dogs barking and play with kids from blocks away. It is tranquil.

I get dressed and go out front to shovel my front walkway, sidewalk, car and parking spot.(about 2 hours work or more)

I have one of those orange curved plastic shovels (which work excellent btw) It makes it a very easy job.

My neighbor across the way has a snowblower. An ugly loud POS. I freaking hate snow blowers. And what pisses me of...is he will stay out there all freaking day with his loud pos blower. WTF. I can shovel the same amount in half the time and I have chronic back pain with 3 herniated discs and this pusst mfer runs his fkin pos blower EVERY FREAKING snow.

Hey neighbor:
F *k you, You F *king F *K!!
I just added him the my list of people I would love to punch in the face.

I guess I should have got up earlier and had coffee before I went out.

I have one... thats different. The snow on the ground changes the audio of your surroundings.

The snow absorbs and dampens the sound, which makes sounds clearer and quieter.

I'll disagree on the snowblower. When we have a heavy snow I can blast that away (especially at the end of the driveway after the snow plow) in half the time and much less effort than shoveling. I can't see giving myself a heart attack either.

BTW, how many of you that don't like snowblowers have loud pipes on your bike? eh Spidey?

When i used to live where it snowed a lot, there was no substitute to a snow blower, try shoveling 2 ft of snow off the entire driveway in under 2 hours or do it in 30 min with the snowblower.

Spidey, you are more than welcome to come broom/rake up the leaves in my yard. I usually have about 100+ 50 gallon bags of leafs every year.

I don't rake leaves anymore... the wind blows everyone elses leaves onto my property, I may use a blower but I usually just cut/mulch them with my lawn mower or tractor.

Sold my ATV with a blade 3 years ago, and days like today I really regret it.

My wife helps me shovel, so I am lucky there, she does remind me of how nice it was with the ATV though.

Every time we shovel, she says she is going to buy a snow blower, but she doesn't.

im sorry, but i am NOT shoveling waist deep or deeper snow.

to get my bikes out of the shed so i could bring them to florida i spent close to 2 hours with a 9 horse snow blower trying to get through the snow on the way to my shed. no way i was doing that by hand.

i have other crap to do, and ive screwed up my body plenty bad enough i dont feel like wasting what its got left doing that.

although i do shovel my sidewalk and deck.

Leave blowers, yes, I've had neighbors use them WAY too much and for WAY too long at a time. Snowblowers, in WI, are a must. I went halfs in on a $1500 Simplicity 30" 2-stage this winter, and it works great! The ATV with a blade works for the fluffier snow, but with the heavier snow it doesn't get any traction on the blacktop.
Oh, did I mention the driveway is 900 feet?

Yeah but I am not across the street revin the motor for 30 min ; )

And I am talking about the suburbs, where the drive way is less that 40 ft, and the same about the sidewalk...

If you have property and the nearest house isn't 5 to 10 ft away then good onya, but when the guy across the street uses the leaf blower to blow a handfull of grass clipings, C'MON!!!!

We just had over 50cm of snow in 24hrs.

I just LOVE my Toro Snowblower, so do my neighbors who I graciously help because they are older retired people.
