just picked up the right side scoop and was about to install it when it dawned on me this thing is two pieces. What the heck hold them together? i said in between swearing. even the guy i ordered it from walked me out and showed me how it looked on his TT. not once did he mention " oh yeah you are going to need this size bolt to put the two together" nor did i ask " what size bolt is needed to put the two pieces together and where can get them? so what size bolt do i need to put this fancy comfort contraption together? |

Just got mine from American Sport Bike yesterday, which included the fasteners. Not as cheap as ordering from the dealer, but it saved me a trip to the dealer and the hardware store. Looks to me like a stainless 10-32 x 1" to me. 3/4" would probably work too. A quick search on other threads and I found this, which I think is the dealer part number: an1005.3fss I like the scoop, but the fastener / tab on the top of the scoop seems like it could have been hidden a little better. Maybe switch to a black fastener so it doesn't stick out so much.?? |

If it is the one from Buell, it should have come with everything you need to install it. |

Not if you order separate from the comfort kit. Bill - The 2010 XB's come with right side scoops from the factory. They have a mid size 1 piece (still larger than the scoop on 03-09 bikes), and a 2 piece scoop thats even larger that comes standard on Uly's. Pics of both scoops - http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/490203.html?1251131515 |

I got mine from a comfort kit, and IIRC had to use 1 or 2 screws that came off the piece that the inner scoop replaced. Wish I had pics to help explain what I'm talking about. |

i got it that the inner piece can use the bolts from the stock piece, but to attach the outter portion of the scoop takes 3 non- stock bolts to complete the look. |

The three screws are reused, the fourth is part #an1005.3fss in stock at the dealer you bought the RSS from. Sorry I missed it when I sold it to you. |
