What has happened to Speed Channel? It's prime time line up has turned into a reality show. Who ever at SPEED thinks a fat Chicago tow truck driver is racing should be taken out and shot with two bullets , one for the tow truck reality show and one for Jacked, the show where the cops catch car thieves........ what a bunch of crap Speed has turned into, Anybody know someone at SPEED ,,, I been given them hell on their forum for all the good it's doing> | ||

Just today I sent them the question: Why don't you start a "NASCAR Channel" and return Speed Channel to the rest of the motosports world? I guess from your post I shouldn't expect any answers. | ||

No they are going the other way, no gearhead stuff at all. I would like to see documentary stuff on Formula 1 and other racing, I would go for an hour of " Inside the tranny of a Rally Car", They want to turn the channel into A&E for gawd sake. | ||

They are just following what they think is mainstream "Speed"...you know...add a bunch of decals and it's modded....it's a shame they don't understand that a lot of people want to know more than how it looks...sucks...it really does. | ||

You have to join the website to post comments. So I did and blasted them on everything from Pinks, Nascar, Wrecked and everything in between and my post was deleted from the site. If it was not for F1, AMA, Moto GP and WSBK I would not watch it. | ||

Much like news. News does not sell on TV. Talking heads w/drama stories sell. NASCAR racing to me reminds me of the old adage, "Going to church no more makes you religous/spirtual, than going into a garage makes you a car" The best thing about TV now is that I am reading alot more. | ||

I will give PASS TIME a big plus. That's because they talk about the cars HP, CU, gear ratios and you get to see the times the cars run. But Pinks is Lame, they don't even tell you the time thru the traps, not that any of their fans would know what the numbers meant anyway. AND NO PRIZE IF YOU WIN!!! they tear up a million dollars of machinery over a week end and get 10K and a box of tools WHOOPIE | ||

That's Pinks All Out. It isn't a week but normally done in a day. Meant for joe blow to run what he's got and hopefully win. The million dollar machines are the professionals they use to entertain the crowds as time fill. Pinks was racing to take the other guy's ride. Too much outright bullshit in the 'negotiations' and lengths? ugh. I know someone that raced Pinks. Won once, lost once. I do miss the Speedvision days. | ||

There is more than enough motorcycle only sports to support it's own channel. I wish I had enough loot to get one going. For years I had been saying that a racetrack in the NYC area would be a mint. Someone did it and it's making them a whole lotta loot. So how do we go about getting a channel ? | ||

I like Bullrun! It starts back up Thursday Feb 18th. I will also watch Monster Trucks and AMA Supercross. But thats about it. | ||

Bull run is a reality show and belongs on A&E. You can like it but get it off the Speed channel, the same with Monster Trucks. They are just abortions of machinery to thrill and not to do anything fast. Just listen to them interview the drivers of Monster Trucks, they are scripted and yelling like a POS wrestling match...... As a mater of fact a monster truck is just like an extended front end on a chopper, NO FUNCTION, ALL DYSFUNCTION | ||

Monster trucks are a combo of stunters and demolition derby. You watch to see crazy crashes. Your right, nothing of any real substance just a spectacle. Bull Run is just outright abuse of poor vehicles. Drive classics or exotics and smash them into things in contests during breaks from doing some sort of find a destination without a map deal. They could always run those bike drags/wheelie drags shows rich supposedly pitched. |
