On the odd chance that your subscription to Cafe Racer magazine has expired, you may have missed this rather amusing little article in the current issue of a great little magazine. They cover the Cafe Racer scene of the sixties and seventies, the great British cafe racer specials, Norvins, Triton's and that kind of thing. That period was really the birth of the sport bike scene as we know it today. Gentleman Jon was there.

There were the Harleys but the Harley scene was unbelievably crude. Just ghastly machines. Still are in my opinion Good one |

Congrats Jon, that's really cool! I just became aware of this magazine last month and was considering a subscription for myself. I think a cafe' racer revival is going to be "the next big thing" now that the chopper fad is soooooooooooo over. I hope I'm still burning up the backroads in my 7th decade. HellBuelly J |

I just the complete article in Cafe Racer. Great article. I knew some the Boston Honda crowd and the RISD folks and spent a lot of time at Bridgehampton and a few other tracks in the Northeast fun times. I remember the the Harley guys at Laconia, one year in the rain. A Harley one the National, I don't remember who it was but he was a Ken Marley shoe. The supporting Junior race was won by another Harley wearing at hot shoe in the rain, they I do remember his name, he a local hot shoe flat Tracker from Rhode Island, Louis Moniz, I think Gordon Razee did well also. Most of they guys here wouldn't remember that era. It was fun time, taking the ferry Conn. to Long Island and miss the last boat to New London on Sunday and having to drive back to City to back to Rhode Island. I regress. |
