I have a hot date tonight and I need my DVD player working!!! I have a cheapy DVD player I'm hooking up into my receiver with component cables. I have the sound working fine, can't get any video. The receiver is an Onkyo HT-R550. When I go through the setup menu I set the HDMI DVD Input to 'No' which should tell it to look at the other inputs, but I still get no video. Let me know if you can help... Link to manual: http://media.onecall.com/Image_Products/Onkyo/HT-S R800_En[1].pdf |

What he said, link the DVD to the TV and use an optical cable to hook the DVD up to the receiver |

Yeah, that's what I had to end up doing... I like having everything pass through the receiver, but I just read that the DVD player input has to be the same as the output to the TV - I'm using HDMI for video into the TV, so even if I passed a component cable signal through the receiver it would still mean having to change the input on the TV. At least the sound is working like I want and the video will work for now. |
