Just caught this on "HD Theatre" this past week. Fascinating look at Michael Csysz and his quest to build an American MotoGP bike. Just too bad it never got out of development and on to the grid. Hope he has better luck with his electric racer, and that he somehow manages to get his four-stroke project back on track. It'd be great to see an American-made bike on the grid. It sure seemed to have an awful lot of promise based on the feedback from the people who rode it. |

I've watched this show 3 times now, and it's worth the hour. Goes to show that endless amounts of money is not the only ingredient required to get a product to market! |

Part of his problem is the same thing that hit Erik: Just as he finished the bike, the rules changed and his 990cc engine became obsolete in the class he was targeting. MotoGP requires TONS of money (just ask Kenny Roberts, Sr) and without some SERIOUS financial backing he was doomed. Damn shame. Hope he has more luck with his electric racer! |

That's a very well made program and really gives you a glimpse of how incredibly difficult it is to try to compete against the big boys. I found it interesting that he compared his task to Tucker and DeLorean. |
