Me and some friends decided to go to the Buell Liquidation, got there around 10:15 and it was PACKED. All of the tool benches were sold by the time I got there, and the tools were moderately priced, some overpriced. There were two pallets of sticker sheets (pictured below), and a pallet of motorcycle lift side decorative side plates (long narrow plastic) that said "STREETFIGHTER" and the oval Buell logo, apparently they were going to dress up the lifts. In the corner there were about 30 or so 1125CRs not for sale. Lots of misc computer stuff, bins of tools, 2 boxes of Buell history DVDs, shelves, ...
Hootowl, kinda like that, except for the vultures who were just there to get deals on tools. On the DVD spine it says "Buell Motorcycle Company 1983-2009", I haven't watched it yet, but it looks like it would be a DVD that is played at a funeral.
How much stuff do you think is still there? I've been busy and didn't hear about this until today on the local news radio. The ad said they had bikes too so maybe those bikes will sell on Saturday, maybe?
I was thinking of heading down there on Saturday if anything is left to maybe pick up a memento or banner, or a loose washer laying on the floor.
I stayed clear. I just would rather remember the good times I had over the years there. The friends I made there. The next time I set foot there will be with Buell enthusiasts and past and new friends this June.
If that Vidja had gotten out prior to bloody october, major egg on the faces at mofoco, it was great but it pisses me off no end, I hope that the ones that threw the elves under the truck wind up there them selves.
great score on the stickers, please post up individual high rez pics, there are a couple I would like to get a good look at the cf on my x1 is getting a little ratty it may get painted, I particulary liked the engineered in East Troy designs
That DVD was produced by the fine folks at H-D. How else could you sum up 26 years of a Marque in just 4 minutes and 26 seconds? The DVD that was put together by the Elves DEFINITELY relegates the Harleywood production to also ran status.
But I'm still a little jaded on this whole topic...
To keep things positive, Bikertrash05 did get some good scores! 1313
I watched The Elves video and ended up crying for the entire 20 minutes. I couldn't watch it again.
So I slapped it in again last Saturday when Vickie got home from East Troy and we both watched it. I ended up crying for the entire 20 minutes again.
It is nothing short of amazing. Eventually it too will end up out in public. There are a couple people I would like to see it.
Amazing.

P.S. - I still recall the day I coined the term "Elves" and the letter I got from Harley-Davidson telling that I should "no longer refer to Buell employees as Elves as it could erode their self esteem and sense of pride". The Elves . . . never got that memo and have, I am pleased to say, adopted the term as the way they refer to themselves with the highest level of pride.
The world doesn't know it yet . . . they will . . . but those people changed the world of American Manufacturing forever. The story has so little to do with motorcycles that it's nearly invisible to the casual viewer, it will someday earn it's rightful spot in the sunlight. The Buell Elves hold the key to returning the term AMERICAN MADE to what it once meant. . . . the best in the world . . . not a compromise to try to match cheap foreign labor rates.
Bikertrash05 - good to see that things like that airbox cover went to a good home Those big decal sheets look awesome! Thanks for posting the DVD up. Kind of weird watching it. Some great still shots in there which would make great prints though... like at 1:43
"But I'm still a little jaded on this whole topic... " +1 on that
