i was camping over the weekend, and i was really bored so i just youtubed motorcyclce safety on my phone, and watched a ton of different videos, but this was by far the funniest!!!!
I was in the museum one day looking at the flight equipment and in comes the Base CO, walks up to me(I am an old guy_) shakes my hand and turns to his entorage and says, "sign him up we can use a guy like this!" Of course he was just goofing with me but I was all bashful and giggly like a 10 year old girl, gosh I hate that when that happens!
Rucker is a cool place, you have to drive through it when traveling between Enterprise and Ozark, crazy winding roads, alligator warnings, cool helicopters, road side boiled peanut stands, man I wish I was living there.
Why is it that in the States there was a problem with Armed Service Personnel fatalities with sport bikes? I've researched a bit but half the shits so biased it's hard to discern who to to believe. It's either wrote by an anti-war person who thinks troops HAVE to have that adrenaline. Or it's wrote by some tree hugging hippie.
I had to watch an Air Force Motorcycle Safety Video a few weeks ago. The WHOLE VIDEO was produced or sponsored by Buell. 1125s throughout. Cant seem to find online though....
There has been an increase in POM (Privately Owned Motorcycle) accidents and fatalities...
ANYTIME there is even a small accident *requiring an ambulance to be dispatched or involving another motor vehicle* it goes to the post commander and gets forwarded higher.
We are not really sure (100%) why but service members were being seriously injured or killed in accidents involving POMs and it was getting to be a DOD wide issue.
Then the Military Sportbike Riders Course came along...
It's no trackday... but with good instructors you can learn some very good fundamentals and it HAS helped a lot.
That video about made me piss my pants. I don't think it was at all meant to be serious. If I had to take a guess... E-4 Mafia created production.
last year i wrote a paper on excatly this topic (soldiers getting injured on bikes) it wasnt to big of a paper so i didnt excatly find out all the answers, but some of the things i found said stuff like the soldiers are all young guys returning to the states with more money than they have ever had, they are all pumped up with testosterone from all wars they were fighting, and bikes seem like a rush to them. (much like it is to all of us) except the difference is, they all have money to buy liter bikes that they dont know how to handle, and get into trouble. you guys are right after this had become a problem, they set up their rider learning course, and bases now require them to have the training course if they want to have a bike on base } That video about made me piss my pants. I don't think it was at all meant to be serious. If I had to take a guess... E-4 Mafia created production.
yea i laughed pretty hard to, it def wasnt suposed to be serious, but none the less, its to loud and to the point!
ha ha yea, now that i made eagle, i'm just an adult leader, and the only other kid in my troop who is my age is going to have his board of review in about two weeks, so he will then also become an adult leader with me. but at this particular camp out, travis and I decided to plan ahead, so we decided we'd bring trav's xbox and his tv, and set it up in our own cabin, and just play all weekend....well that worked out friday night, but he left around noon the next day b/c he was sick, and took his 360 with him, so sat night i was in a cabin by myself with nothing to do....so youtube was my entertainment for the night!
