My guess is tree. If you enlarge the pic of the right side of the frame crack, you see all sorts of scratches and stuff...inside a "pocket" in the frame shape. And on the airbox cover in the same location. Looks like the rider target-fixated on a tree...and nearly turned left enough to miss it, but caught it between the steering head and right radiator. That's my guess. Be interesting to hear Abe's take on it though... (Message edited by ratbuell on January 19, 2010) |

It sure would be hard to smack a tree head on and not get the pod or handlebar.... but I see what you are saying about all the scratches and damage to the airbox. I think I may ask the seller if he knows what happened. |

My guess is a large truck vs the front of the bike, be it a collision or a parked bike the results would be similar the height of the truck and the resulting down force would cause the that damage, |

What I think is funny is the sentnece the seller says that it wouldn't take much work to get it going again. UHMMM, ok! |

well one really bad ass go cart motor ...once had race cart that was set up for McCulley 2 cycle motor, modified the frame and added a 550 4cyl honda 5 speed with a kirker header up over the top and it was a really wild ride,real fast, real low,real quick ..... |

OK, I'll guess too. It was strapped down in the trailer and some one jumped the whole rig. taking it back home. |
