Grumpy, Spidey, Ferris I, that means me, I come on the Quickboard for the different opinions, political or otherwise. My suggestion was to get over it if you don't have some input or don't enjoy it. I tend to glean a great deal of info from all of you, but it is irritating to see any of you hijack a thread just because you don't like the subject matter. The cure for you is to move on to another spot like old school and talk bikes. But we all have a lot more in common than just or taste in cycle manufacturer...dont ya think?
However to suggest that I restrict myself to motorcycle only threads to avoid any political content is like saying only eat beans If you don't like peppers. BTW both give me gas, just different ends.
I also find it highly amusing & ironic to see bleats about hijacking a political thread.
a man walks into a bar that has a robot bartender and orders a beer and the robot gives him one and asks "what is your IQ?" the guy says "168", so the robot asks several questions about physics, history, world events to keep him entertained while drinking.
after leaving the bar the guy wonders what would've happened if he told the bartender a different IQ. he returns and orders a beer and the robot bartender gives him one and asks "what is your IQ?". this time the guy says "about 100" so the robot asks him questions about his favorite sports teams and if he saw the race last weekend.
the guy stands up to leave, but decides to try one more time. so he moves over to another seat and sits back down. the bartender comes over and the guy asks for a beer, the bartender hands him the beer and again says. "what is your IQ?". the guy says "50, i guess" so the robot says "are you still happy that you voted for Obama?"
Getting it off their chests - or the belief that somehow posting messages on an internet motorcycle board will make a big difference to the political landscape.
Frank Zappa didn't do drugs, and rarely imbibed. Per my brother who worked for him and knew him well. Smoked like a chimney though.
True. It was an off-hand comment by me and I apologize for impugning the reputation of a deceased person.

"Making a difference" has nothing to do with it. It's about having a discussion or a debate involving a topic that is of interest to some. Having a conversation about certain topics really irritates a few for reasons I suspect have nothing to do with being non-motorcycle related and everything to do with conservative or opposing views being expressed that some are not able to maturely handle or tolerate. You don't see the outcry over other non-motorcycle threads of which there are a fair share.
