This thread reminded me of an album I had back in college. Although I have never been a big fan of metal, I used to rock out to "Necromantical Screams"- track 10 on To Mega Therion by Celtic Frost (1985).
METAL! I listen to a lot of Yngwie, and the heavier stuff, like Lamb of God, Devil Driver, Slipknot, Mushroomhead,... Sometimes I just get into different moods and want to listen to classical, mostly Bach or Beethoven.
My current playlist of "easy listening":
Venus blue - Acid Bath Down in a Hole - Alice in Chains Midnight Rider - The Allman Brothers Band Black Lodge - Anthrax The Chauffeur (Duran Duran Cover) - Deftones Those Shoes - Eagles Mutapump - Foetus Trash - Korn Just a Car Crash Away - Marilyn Manson Turn the Page - Metallica The Becoming - Nine Inch Nails (from Still) Planet Caravan - Pantera Oceans - Pearl Jam The Mission ["M" Is For Milla Mix] - Puscifer Snuff - Slipknot 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins Gun - Soundgarden I Wasn't Meant To Feel This/Asleep At The Wheel - Suicidal Tendencies Return to Serenity - Testament Christiansands - Tricky How Many Miles To Babylon - Yngwie J. Malmsteen
Now you guys (and gals) are talking my language, besides Buell that is.
Besides all the mainstream bands I listened to like Metallica, Cinderella, Anthrax, Kiss ( It's funny, I can never say Kiss without also thinking HEELLLOOO DETROIT...)G&R and the like but some others you all may or may not remember were: Sacred Reich, Surf Nicaragua's lyrics still ring true, just a different location. DRI - Dirty Rotten Imbecils Nuclear Assault SOD - Storm Troopers of Death
Yeah, seems I was a raging metal head now that I look back at youtube. Every once in a while I break out the cassettes and if I want to go way back; the turntable. Yeah, I still have one.
I can listen to most Music, but prefer Metal. I am more into Dark Metal though, rather than the Silly Metal like Dragonforce and Plane Eats Airplane ETC., that stuff sounds like you are listening to Donkey Kong or Pac-Man to me. The Mainstream bands I like are of the likes of Tool, Korn, Slipknot, and Deftones.
wow, had to come in a see what the kids are doin'. I actually liked Dead seasoN and Advent something,,thank God I couldn't hear the words on a lot of the rest but some bands were very good.
Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo, believe it or not, is playing bass for Metallica. Much better than Jason Newsted was, bleedin sod of a bassist, at least you could hear Cliff Burton and can hear Robert, but Jasons shit is hard to make out when it comes to tabbing out songs.
