I could not pass on the half price deal for a new Buell helmet regardless of budget constraints. I do ride this machine nearly every day for my work, and the helmet is required by law, and even more so by common sense.

My old Buell Asphalt helmet by KBC is five years old, I've been told it has reached helmet maturity. What ever that means. I still love this helmet, it fits properly and comfortably. I got a little scuff on it at Homecoming '07, which required a close look inside for damage. It never impacted the ground, more like scratched the surface when I laid my head down after the tumble.

Being experienced with fiberglass repairs for well over thirty years, I used a high intensity light to look for cracking inside and out, there was none. There was no damage to the coating inside the helmet and no distortion to the styrofoam cushion by measured thickness. So I painted the helmet to match my Uly, put on some reflective stuff, then later installed speakers and have been loving it. It has always been my preferred helmet.

Time and use have not been detrimental thus far either. The fiberglass is not degrading, I have had it apart to look. The styrofoam crush padding is intact and still in great shape. The interior padding was just washed a few weeks ago and is still not tattered or torn. Some of the edge moldings and seals were coming loose, but they glued back in place last summer with no problem. Heck even the strap is not wearing.

The "expert" at the HD/former Buell store said "three years and out for all helmets". Could this be a conspiracy to get consumers to purchase more product?

A good friend gave me his flip up Shoei when he bought a better nicer helmet last year. This one also fits me very well, but is little noisier than the regular full face. It is great for group rides where I won't expect to be riding too stupidly. The flip feature is great for being able to talk to fellow riders at stop lights and such. Replacement shields are pricey, but truly a nice piece. I like this one when I am riding with my wife, when she is on her Blast.

The new one is the Buell Turbulent by AGV. Half price.....crazy deal, and I may have needed it(according to the expert). The first thing I noticed it the chin bar is tucked in much closer. I thought that would be annoying, but it is not. It allows for more vision down and front, and does not fog at stop lights as much as the others. This thing is lighter by probably near 15%(haven't scaled it yet). The peripheral view is much better than the others. The shield is also a little closer to the face, which by simple physics puts the eyes more out into the view zone. It fits properly and comfortably, I would like to say more like a glove fit than a sit on your head helmet fit. This one feels like it becomes part of you, not just strapped on. I think I have a new favorite. This coming from all three being a good proper comfortable fit.

Very Nice helmets y'all!! I picked this one up about 6 months ago, a Joe Rocket Carbon Fiber RT-101 in Transtone Red. I won it in an auction on eBay, brand new, for $100. I love the fit and finish. It is the lightest helmet I've worn, with great fit for my head (XL), and it has a cloth wind guard from my chin to the front of the helmet, which cuts down noise and retains (some) warmth in the winter. I've only used it once, when riding my dad's FXD (my has been down 10 months), so I cannot really remember well enough to comment on noise, but in the same regard it wasn't loud enough for me to consciously think it was louder, either.

Hey, I just picked up that new AGV as well, and wow, is it comfortable, and light, too. I was having a tough time finding a really good fitting lid, having been completely spoiled by my Nolan. The price on the AGV was unbelievable!
