I currently have the curve 8330 and am happy enough with it to stick with another BB since sprint doesn't offer the iphone and I don't trust the other touch screen smartphones. Anyway, anyone here have experience with either the BB tour or the new curve (8830 I think?). The new curve has an optical mouse which eliminates track ball problems (not a big issue in my experience) but otherwise doesn't look much different than the tour. |

I have the tour, and am very happy with it. It does everything I need it to do, and then some. I've had zero problems with it, in the year I've had it. Trackball works fine. |

The Tour is a great phone and the likely replacement for my Storm (which sucks donkey balls). The Tour has a better camera. The Curve supports more varied audio files. The Tour has a larger screen. The Tour has a longer battery life. The Curve supports Wi-fi (if you aren't on Verizon). |

PK I'm in the same boat. I have the Sprint 8330 and am looking forward to the Tour which does almost everything a little faster and cleaner that the curve. Mind you the curve is still a fairly good phone. |

You can compare Curve 8530 to Tour Blackberry and also you may want to look at it in the store to get the idea. Mainly it would be preference since I know I am not crazy about the keyboard on the Tour while I like the Curve keyboard better. |

Ft bstrd, do you have the original Storm or the Storm 2? My brother has the Storm and he likes it but from what I've heard from others, the new Storm 2 is quite a bit better. Friends say that it has fixed the problems that the original Storm had. I have the Curve 8330 and like everything about it except the trackball which I have had replaced twice in 11 months. The new Curve 8530 doesn't use a track ball which might be the way to go. |

The original Storm. The problem with the original is that the touch screen gobbles up so much of the CPU resources that EVERYTHING runs slow. If the Storm 2 is better, it might be an option. The Storm is great for screen size, surfing, movies, etc. It's hard to text one handed. The Curve states it has Wi-fi on Verizon's website. I'm intrigued. I'm going to check it out and see what it will do. |

I just went from the Curve 8330 to the Tour 2 months ago and the biggest complaint I have is the battery life. I have to plug my phone in every night where with the Curve I didn't. I went through 4 trackballs/phones with the Curve so I am concerned about the ball on the Tour but hopefully the newer design is better. The keypad is slightly different(smaller) on the Tour and has taken a little getting used to. I hit wrong keys more now but I also have sausage fingers. Try it out in the store if possible. |

The Tour 2 is coming shortly. It's also going to get rid of the ball and add Wi-Fi support. We just got Tours here at work, I like it, I would get the Curve if it was a personal phone just for being slightly smaller. |

If you've ever had a Blackberry, nothing else will do (particularly in a business environment). I've looked at the HTC products and they look fantastic. They just don't do, from a business standpoint, what a Blackberry will do. I'd be interested in a Blackberry with Verizon with Wi-Fi. That is my biggest complaint. I'd like to be able to use wireless networks instead of the 3G network. Anyone know if a VoIP application exists for the Blackberry? I'd like to be able to use a wireless network for phone calls if possible. |

I opted for the Curve (8520) So far I like it, although I'm having some trouble getting it to connect to my WPA2 encrypted WIFI. |

Should look into the HTC lineup. They are smartphones rather than Blackberries. I have the Ozone and love it. |

Ft_, Verizon is a Nazi when it comes to phones on their network, I know several that get the Sprint versions of various smartphones and then unlock them and use on Verizon. For example my phone, the Verizon edition has less memory, a crappy keyboard, and a dozen other flaws. Oh, and Windows pwns Blackberry any day, I had both |

How does it work? Do you have any wi-fi limitations. I agree that Verizon has the dumbest smart phones on the market. Their network, though, is superior. |

Just started playing with it - seems to work very well, the wifi connection is working instead of the 3g once connected. |
