This is my first BW post using my swanky new Acer Aspire One netbook. Pretty sweet little toy, emphasis on the little. Got the blue one, and dubbed it "Smurf". Need to upgrade the ram though. Came with 1 gig, and between Firefox and the Google desktop (which is cool as hell with all the available gadgets!), I'm chewing up 65% of my memory already. Anyway, while looking for a wallpaper for the Smurf, I ran across this enormous motorcycle wallpaper repository, and they have a HUGE section devoted to Buell... so many wallpapers in fact that I got tired of browsing them. Check it out: http://www.bikewalls.com/motorcycles/Buell_wallpap ers ~SM |

Nice, I'll have to switch all the computers backgrounds at work to Buells, that oughta tick my Honda loving boss off. How low do the batteries usually last on those wittle tings? |

Could always go the Hackintosh route with it, tho I don't believe the Aspire wireless card works in OSX. Just sayin... |

i picked one up for my trip here to florida for the winter just so i had some kind of computer. got a good deal on it and it had already been up graded to 2 gigs. seems to be working ok, and has MAJOR battery life. the thing will work nonstop for hours before the battery starts getting low. |

Give me a blinking DOS prompt. My BASH$ shell could beat up your DOS prompt! |

To answer the question about battery life, this one looks like it's going to work as advertised: 8+ hours. I have no love for Mac. My last experience with them was not pleasant... a whole room full of graphic design machines that crashed if you held the mouse wrong. And if the latest OS has all the user-friendliness of iTunes, then f___ that! ~SM |

BASH Shell. Pffft!. I moved to zsh for any interactive use My little aspire one (hacked to 1.5G of ram, 30G Ipod HD + big battery), runs Ubuntu Netbook Remix really well, and get like 8 hours of battery life (real world use, web surfing, compiling, flash...), and even more if I just coding (I have a mac as well ) |
