First of all yes this is a repost off of the 1125 forum, but thought everyone should know lol Well upon my questions to EBR I have found out that you do NOT need a race license to buy the amazing Buell Race Exhaust AND can get a PREPROGRAMMED ECM to go along with it for an additional 250$ (yes less than the O S B tune) here's the whole thing in the email: My question: Erik, How much is your race exhaust? Is it the same exhaust as the Buell Racing Exhaust? and Do you need a race license to purchase it? Also when will the online catalog and pictures and pricing of the euro spec 1190? Thanks A lot, Jake Response: Dear Mr. Holladay, The race exhaust that we have right now is exactly the one used on the championship winning AMA DSB bikes last year. It works very well with stock engines, as we ran completely stock engines in that class. The complete system sells for $1700 , however they are in short supply at the moment. More are being made, but it will be a while before they are done. You will need to purchase a race ECU to go with this pipe, but if you do not change anything else in the engine or airbox (other than a K&N filter or the like) we can ship it to you with the right map in it. The ECU is $250 by itself; the software and interface cable costs $500 more, but you would not need that with just the pipe. Also this is a very high end complex software package that needs to be used by someone with lots of EFI experience. We are aware that many riders who do not have race licenses want these exhausts for trackdays and race schools. Therefore we are not going to require a license for someone to purchase these. However, these systems are not street legal and neither is the calibration in the race ECU, so neither should be used on the street. We are behind schedule regarding finalizing component prices, and the information on the race motorcycles will not be posted until we have this information and can post the prices. Best regards, Customer Support Erik Buell Racing and its 100$ less ...im savin my pennies lol Cheers, Jake |

Cataract 2, that's music to my ears!!! I might go in the hole buying the ECM, but F it! Now I've got to find out if my dealership is going to be able to properly/to the max tune the ecm/bike; "very high end complex software package that needs to be used by someone with lots of EFI experience." |
