Oh...btw...when I did quit, I ended up with a beer gut. So...that is my resolution. To loose the beer gut. |

Many who quit smoking find Mikes advice to be very valuable. Exercise too, you will put food into your mouth as a replacement for the cigarettes. Not only will exercise help you feel better - it will help replace the old habit with a new one and fight off the gut that inevitably comes with quiting. My resolution is to get back to near the shape I was in two years ago, for now I'm being more careful eating and exercising more often. While I'm not doing as well as I can, it's better than I had been. Lemonchili, I'm not sure if I've been properly on-time to work yet this year, so you've got me beat. |

that's a start, right!!!. as far as quitting smoking, when i finally had enough, the job i had was really starting to suck and 3 days after i quit smoking, i quit my job and spent the next 2 weeks playing a pc video game just to keep my hands busy. as far as i'm concerned, it worked and although it took a couple of years to totally eliminate the craving i don't regret it in the least. i did put on the weight but took off 20 lbs and maintained that for the past couple of years thanks to the incentive of the "lets get it on" thread that wolf started. p.s. i really think i should have won the pink thong but no one said they were weighing in outside. |

For those doing the quit smoking - keep at it! It's tough, but hang in there, I need someone to inspire that I can do it one day! Yep, got there at 8.30 this morning, which is an acceptable time. Half the problem is my job is really flexible, I can get away with starting anywhere between 7.30 and 9, though 8.30 or before is more acceptable. I dug up the number for the singing teacher today... ring tomorrow if I remember... |

Mine is to bring more lunches to work and not eat out as much. I'm limiting myself to 1 lunch a week as eating out. Reasoning is for money, and for waistline. (gotta get in racing shape!) |
