It's 8f here. Global warming is figured by an annual rise in temperature The annual rise in temperature is called "Spring". Global warming is figured by a continual rise in bigger budgets for global warming research. Now, I do believe in man made climate change. One theory ( note that all important word...theory ) is that converting forest to artificial swamp increased methane production and has held off the ice age. For 18000 years. ( how long rice paddies have been cultivated ) It is more than possible that man produced CO2 from fossil fuel use WAS a factor in the temperature rise in the late 1990's. The major factor being a hotter Sun. But we are talking a chaotic system & the "butterfly effect" can bite you on the butt. SO it is a good idea to promote clean safe nuclear power, instead of fossil fuels. We need them for cars, home heating, and chemical feedstocks. It's insane to burn oil, natural gas, or oil to make electricity, when those BTU's are more efficiently used directly. We have the technology to free us from fossil fuel use to make electricity, so we should. I was unaware of the birth defect issue with DDT. I know the Rachel Carson thing is vastly overblown. Too bad the memory of a bitter woman dying of cancer is more important {to some} than the humans that die from malaria. No one with a brain wants to increase pollution. Smog was & is real. Ozone holes did exist. ( do they still, over N. America?) But there is little evidence that freon was the cause, because research was suppressed on ultraviolet exposure at ground level for political reasons. Am I being smug if I question how much money went to politicians ( you look up the admin. involved...hint, Al, The Prophet, Gore was in it ) from the producers of freon after the patent ran out? I'm skeptical, but don't know, how dangerous freon is. I Know that the Antarctic ozone hole is annual, and caused by A. lack of sunlight to make new ozone & B. an active volcano spewing tons of chlorine. Conservation is good. Theories are vital. Science is fraking important, since we live on a ball in space, and won't ever have off world colonies with these jerks in charge. ( that last covers decades ) Anyone who says "the science is settled" is a con man. (unless he's talking Newtonian Physics and you are claiming that a fat guy will fall faster than a skinny one & want to drop them off a tower against their will to prove it.) |

I attacked that hill of snow with the snowmobile and the hill won. Just couldn't top it,even tho it looked easy ..till you got on it.Steeper than it looks and there is a hidden valley in there that will swallow a sled and rider!Too fast and would risk hitting the house. Too slow and would have to bail and turn off.............but I had loads of fun trying. Buddy with me(also on a Phazer) wouldn't even get close to it. It was pretty soft and would be easy to get stuck if you just tried to "tour ride" on it.. |

I think you should try launching onto your roof. I think you could do it! |

Jaws:"You're gonna need a bigger boat" Or in this case,a faster sled..... |

JZ, I like you if for no other reason than you mow your grass on the angle. |

I like you if for no other reason than you mow your grass on the angle Oh,I have a new twist to that too. Experimented last mow/last fall and it looks like it will be symmetric if I get the pattern started correctly. Never got to the second mow. And for the angle job, here is my favorite. Too bad it grows out of it in a few days. Yeah,I know,I'm a show off. I also piss away a lot of time that could be better spent. |

I'm not as big a fan of the cross hatch. I prefer the light and dark pattern of the 45* angle cut. My neighbor calls me the grass whisperer because I mow my grass the same way every time and give it a really good "water mellon" treatment. Then again, I call her the grass whisperer because her birth mother sends her pot in the mail. |
