Some valid points there but seeding is easy, you take all the conference winners, and then the top teams that were not conference winners or independent, and you seed them based on their ranking in the top 25 poll. Most every conference champion is ranked and if they are ranked outside the top 25 but are still a conference champ, well I guess they are the lowest seed. You don't give any bye weeks and you play until you have two, split the region as east and west, we have a big river that can determine who is east and who is west or in four regions for those that don't like the two region thing, and you let them duke it out until two emerge. Those two play for the championship, all the others get matched in bowl games and viola you have a great new years day bowl day like always and a real national champion that no one could dispute. I don't see how if they are 13-0 and have played teams considered less that tough then it will sort it self out in the playoffs, that will determine if they are good enough. |

That's what I'm saying, though. There are teams in stronger conferences that could beat 13-0 teams in other conferences. Why should a 13-0 conference champ of Conference USA knock a 9-3 team from a tough conference (say the SEC) out of a bid for the championship? |

Because if they play a playoff game the winner advances and that is the deal. Hence it being fair. |

As long as a the 9-3 strong conference team was bracketed with a 13-0 weak conference team, that would be ok. How deep do you go in the strong conference line-up? Do you go equally deep into the week conference or just take the 13-0 team? |

Too much money made on Bowl Games. Too much tradition....This would almost impossible to do at this point...it would be cool though. |

Does anyone really care what bowl game it is? They've become so completely ubiquitous that all the tradition is gone. Can anyone really tell the difference between the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl? The tradition is dead as a result of the BCS. A playoff system would make MORE money since folks would get to see the best teams play more. Anyone watch the New Mexio Bowl? St. Petersburg? R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl? MAACO Las Vegas Bowl? S.D. County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl? Sheraton Hawaii Bowl? Little Caesars Bowl? Meineke Car Care Bowl? Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl? AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl? Eagle Bank Bowl? Champs Sports Bowl? Roady's Humanitarian Bowl? Pacific Life Holiday Bowl? Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl? Brut Sun Bowl? Texas Bowl? Insight Bowl? Chick-fil-A Bowl? Outback Bowl? Capital One Bowl? International Bowl? Papajohns.com Bowl? AutoZone Liberty Bowl? Valero Alamo Bowl? GMAC Bowl? The only ones that have ANY history are: Konica Minolta Gator Bowl Rose Bowl Game presented by Citi Bowl Allstate Sugar Tostitos Fiesta FedEx Orange The Championship isn't even a real bowl game any more. They had a game in the Rose Bowl twice. If I count correctly, not including the championship game, there are 33 bowl games. You could run 36 teams with a bye or two in there and still do a playoff. The sponsors could still sponsor the playoff games. Now you can have a crap record and STILL play in a bowl game. The Bowls are a joke. There is no tradition in most of the bowl games. |

I think this is what I said all along!!! Like I stated it is all about them not admitting the system is flawed!!! |
