What all is there to do/see in Wisconsin?

As I will be there for Homecoming I plan on squeezing as much as I can into the 4 or 5 days I am there.

I already plan on going to Lambeau Field for a tour

Any car museums, really cool bars/taverns, or just cool stuff in general I should check out?

I'm a Green Bay fan living in Dallas, Tx, i like beer, babes, motorcycles, and muscle cars - just info for ideas

If you're into aviation I went up to Osh Kosh when I was there. Nice museum and plenty of aircraft to check out.

There's the Wisconsin Auto Museum in Hartford, Wisconsin's largest car museum. Couple blocks away is Mineshaft, Wisconsin's largest bar and restaurant. Both of which I would be glad to escort you to! ..... I live within a few miles away.

if you can find some free time, go to the northwoods for the beauty of woods before they are all gone from America. That's where I like to spend my vacation time.

Spank beat me to it. If you hit Hartford, let's make it a party at Mineshaft! (it's like an hour and a half from East Troy)

I'll be visiting my Mom in Slinger (next to Hartford)

The Auto Museum is an impressive visit. http://wisconsinautomuseum.com/

Met Crusty, his wife and daughter for the first time at the Mineshaft before Homecoming/25th Anniversary.

Steve, I think we still have to get together at the Slinger House for a burger. Got your e-mail after you had left from the Homecoming last year. I felt bad...guess I owe ya a beer! Are you riding this year?

I am not sure... might rent a bike. Still haven't decided just HOW I'm getting around. Renting a car is just... WRONG.

"Cyclone - where exactly is the northwoods?"

I don't consider being "up north", until I get past Eagle River or Minocqua.

Eagle River is definitely in the North Woods. I'm not sure where the Southern border is. It probably depends on who you're talking to.

Run around Eagle River in summer and the week of the snowmobile championships, you'd think you were in little Chicago.

I own a lake home in Land O Lakes, about 45 minutes to an hour north of Eagle River. The Chicago Locusts aren't too bad yet.

The Northwoods here really start about mid state.

Take Brewery tour, there plenty around. If you are into traveling while here, take the back roads to Stevens Point(they have a Brewery) then over to Chippewa Falls(Leinenkugels Brewery tour, my favorite)then turn north and enjoy!

I'm up for the Mineshaft. Probably count me in on that too. It depends on my babysitter situation at the time.

The EAA Airventure museum in Oshkosh is a nice museum and could be on your way up to Lambeau. Get some good cheese from an actual cheese factory and be amazed at the power of cheese curds. We have great state parks throughout the state although there are entrance fees. When you go to Lambeau for the tour make sure you go through the hall of fame as it is the nicest football hall of fame there is supposedly.

I almost destroyed my GI tract this year at homecoming eating fried cheese curds... After I tried them with some ranch and a Leinie on draft... Game over.

Steve, i hope you find a ride! If I had a "good" extra bike I would let you use it!

As for Mineshaft....I know we tried something last year only to have it get lost in bad communication. This year if we can keep it together I would be willing to make reservations for those interested. Maybe we just wait and see what happens as time draws closer?

Beer? You'll be in heaven. It's the state beverage. And there's lots of great microbrew. Make sure a spend a little time in Madison as it probably has the greatest concentration of breweries in the state. There are many others outside of Madison, too. They seem to be well represented in the stores if you want to purchase said beverage for future consumption.
