Nothing.

People give me crap about the beer I drink, give me crap about my political choices, my choices in music, the town I live in, my line of work, my favorite foods, my choice in movies... NONE OF IT MATTERS to me - too bad it matters to them.

(By the way, Lite beer drinkers are WIMPY, GIRLY-MEN!)

I tell them not to knock it until you try it. The ones who have say it's a paint shaker, the ones who haven't say America has no part in sportbikes. When I went to get a new jacket at the local Star City Motorsports the kid asked if I rode a cruiser or sport bike. I said sport bike, he asked what kind, I said Buell and he rolled his eyes and said 'Eh, that's more of a cruiser'. I was royally mad, I wanted to kick over his 'cool' CBR600 with a lowering kit and extended swing arm.

When people ask WHY I ride a Buell...I just tell them it has grande cojones and it'll beat any ricer in town except on a quarter mile.

One of my co-workers asked me the same recently. I tossed him the key to my brand new 08 1125R I literally just picked up an hour before hand. He went to leave the parking lot and due to the torque, almost 12 o'clocked it. He has a Ninja 1200 so he has an idea of what a powerful bike is, and couldn't believe it. I had similar happen a few years back on my Uly with another co worker.

You don't need to say anything, the bike does all the talking for you.

I have had many I4s, and they just cant match the overall usability of the Buell. Power......all the time. Great sound, sportiness, excessive personality, and exceptional handling. I really haven't had any negative comments about my bike. The ricers I sometimes ride with wish they would've checked out a Buell before they got thier I4s. Thats what they get for listening to thier friends. Like Froggy said; the bike speaks for itself in my situation.

That's pretty odd seeing as the only bike I really lust for to keep alongside my BUELL is an early 750 Brutale in red! Of course I'd love another 916 but.......

I really like my Buell - and it gets lots of attention wherever it goes. Maybe coz I made a good job of it. No one asks me why. I imagine it speaks for itself when people look at how much I've advanced it.

When I bought my Lightning...I took a ride and showed it to three of my friends that afternoon. I let all three ride it (they are the only three people that I would let ride my bike...they all are excellent riders).

All three said that they wished they had tried the Buell before buying the bikes they now ride...not because it is fast, but because it is so tractable and handles so well...their bikes??? A ZX10r, CBR600rr, and Ninja 600r...the Honda guy was blown away by the off idle power, the Ninja guy loved the turn in...and the ZX10 guy was amazed at the controlability of the throttle exiting the turn....and they all loved the brakes.

The only thing I don't like about the bike is the wind blast at 135...; ) Shoulda got a "r"...

I also bought my 1125 because of the incredible discount.

I can say that I never talked down about Buells in the past even when I was riding my Gixxer 1000. Truthfully, I didn't know much about them other than that they had a Sportster powerplant.

Inline fours have their advantages/disadvantages just like V-twins. Who cares as long as you ride what you want to ride?

Oh, and I really love my 1125 CR. I've become practically obsessed with it. I just wish it would warm up some so I could ride it everyday. : )

It all depends on how they ask. If it's A genuine question or A sarcastic remark. I've had people ask becouse they are trying to decide what to buy or just curious. If they're being A canoe, I usally just give them the finger and smome there @$$

Because it's different. People over here look at something like a Buell and they end up having to pick their jaws up off the floor. Buells aren't thought of the same way as ricer owners think of them in the States. Except for Ducati owners, I've heard a few making fun of the 1125s. Otherwise, mostly good things to say about Buells over here.

I smile or grin at those who tease, because they just don't get it... if they really wanted to know or have a discussion they wouldn't start that way.

I do the same, then thank those who compliment it, which seems to happen more often than not over the last few years.

The bikes speak for themselves, if someone really wants to know they'll be polite.

the first day I had my bike I took it up north about an hour to get used to it as well as show off to some friends. when I got back to my home town at about 11PM I came through town because I wanted some stop and go city riding. at nearly every light I was asked my motorists what by bike was. some people gave me that double take, "hear a harley see a sport bike... WTF!" every person that rolled their window down had something good to say. two of them had cars I could only dream of buying. one was so heavily modded that it looked like a race car (tasteful performance mods to an S4) about eight people asked me about my bike that night.
I already knew I loved my bike, that night I found out most other people did too.

the ONLY time I was ever given flack about my bike was a pair of guys on matching blackbirds with neon all over.
