Rocket, I bow down to thee. No longer will I consider my Vauxhall a brilliant piece of machinery. Anyways, I'm off to work in my 'cool' car.

I wouldn't be bowing down to a TVR in one of those. I've considered the similar to VX 220, Lotus Elise, because you could use it everyday. The Griff you can too, but there's always the hassle of security it not being a true hard top. Then there's the road salt through winter. It's fairly straightforward maintaining a TVR, but frequent winter use is a lot to keep on top of, and equally hard to keep anything and everything underneath clean and looking nice. No mine isn't like a brand new chassis, but it looks very nice. Some owners do nothing but keep them like brand new though. I do prefer to drive mine.

And that's the next thing about driving a Griff. Especially the early and best version of the 500. It's a car you have to be in charge of. Know what to do and handle it accordingly. It's a very easy car to go extraordinarily fast in - and easy to get out of your depth in too. If you drive it hard, as I like to, you just have to know at all times what it's capable of. And in snow like we have now, it can be some fun, same in very heavy rain, but it can very quickly catch you out. And yes it has caught me out once, over a 100mph. It is a car that can in a moment, scare the shit out of you, no matter how good you are. Remember, these are road versions really of the formidable Tuscan Challenge race cars. I've heard racers say of them the same. That the Tuscans scared the shit out of them. Which is why they appealed to so many racers, as the Griff does to people similar to me in their like for them. An Elise is a pussycat in comparison, but not a domestic pussycat. Maybe a Lynx instead. A Griff would be the Lion.
