Been looking at this to go with one of my blackberrys. What do you use? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875978112&Tpk=Plantronics%20BackBeat%20903%20Stereo%20Bluetooth (Message edited by mmmi_grad on December 29, 2009) |

Anything placed in the ear hurts in my helmets. I think you'll be more comfortable with a Bluetooth capable helmet-mounted system with speakers that sit inside the helmet, not in your ears. I've got the Cardo Scala FM. It doesn't work for phone calls - too much wind noise, but have heard of people having good luck with Chatterbox units for phone calls. I use mine strictly for the FM receiver. I can listen to local radio or plug an FM transmitter into my Blackberry. I listened to a personalized Pandora playlist during the last trip I took - worked like a charm until I hit a couple of one-horse towns in SW Missouri and lost cell service. Keep in mind that if you find a bluetooth set capable of receiving A2DP (stereo bluetooth) then you wouldn't need the FM transmitter, you could just stream music straight from the Blackberry - either via music on a memory card or an application such as Slacker or Pandora. (don't think LastFM has a BB app yet?) I regret not finding an A2DP capable unit. My GPS also only broadcasts A2DP, so I can't hear it in the helmet. |

I have a RAM mount for my iPhone, which is my music, calls, and GPS when I'm riding. That being said, I've found that when not wearing a helmet, the OE headphones stay in my ears better than any of the in-ear sets that I've had. Plus all the buttons in the line make it easy to change songs, volume, or make a call on the fly. |

I have the Cardo /Scala Q2 and it worked great with my phone. The Droid is a bit different. I am helping to test the new Scala G4's and they are great as well. Much better sound and A2DP technology. I can't wait to have my own. I always wear a helmet. |

Pammy, you have the G4? Have they fixed the volume difference between bluetooth and the FM part of it. I also have the Q2, and has worked AWESOME. |

Don't wear a helmet? You may not have the proper intelligence level to operate any bluetooth device properly. Best of luck with your search, and with the whole keeping the brainium inside the cranium thing. |

What I have been working on is the connectivity between the G4's and the Q2's. Also the wind noise(nonexsistant). Volume issues are resolved as I understand it. |

I stillhaven't set out on doing anything to the Ulysses yet . . . but I am looking for the ability to connect and use:
- iPhone
- Zumo 550
- Radar Detector
- Intercom
I use ear buds and need to come up with a microphone and a means of integrating things. |

Pammy, one more question. Will the G4 connect simultaneously to more than a single Q2? Being able to talk to BOTH my wife and son at the same time would be AWESOME! Court, here's what I use... iPhone Garmin 2820 Intercom MP3 Player intercom(between me, my wife, and my son) I sync the iPhone to the 2820. It comes in handy when getting a call, I can see WHO is calling, and reject, or click the screen and take it. All the while keeping the iPhone in my pocket out of the elements. I don't like wasting the battery on my iPhone, so I use an old/hacked 2nd gen iPod, and this http://www.valueoutfitters.com/iJet-Apple-iPod-Rem ote-iPhone-Remote-p/ijetappleipodremote.htm The remote is velcroed on the left switchgear. I can raise and lower the volume, advance tracks, pause, etc... I keep the iPod in my pocket as well. It's wired to the Scala Q2. |

""Don't wear a helmet? You may not have the proper intelligence level to operate any bluetooth device properly. Maybe we can have a new Helmet mandatory law soon.... |

I guess I didn't see where PK proposed them to be mandatory? But hey, you don't want to wear a lid. That's your choice. And I'm glad you have that you can exercise that choice. But, we will exercise the choice to make fun of you for being ignorant enough to not wear a helmet as well |

Personally, I don't think any state should have helmet laws with one exception: any rider under the age of 18 being required to wear one. However, you're still an ignorant jackass if you don't wear one. Helmet laws do nothing more than remove a little piece of freedom from our lives, and make "survival of the fittest" less applicable. I'm ok with the fact that I'm smart enough to wear a helmet therefore the chances of my gene pool reproducing are greater than a rider who doesn't possess that much common sense. |

Steve, I haven't connected 2 Q2's to one G4 but I see no reason that it can't be done. I am thinking that you would have to toggle between units just like with the Q2's now. I have connected 1 Q2 to each G4(total of 2 G4's and 2 Q2's). 4 people could talk as if face to face. No toggling. |

Pammy, Since you're still testing the G4 do you have any idea when it will be available for the rest of us? This is the system I've been waiting for to replace my autcom setup. |
