Never heard of them before. Which model did you get? They look pretty sweet but dang some of 'em are pretty 'spensive! If nobody chimes in, let us know what you think |

I had a Gunwind model that I liked, but the faceshield sideplate crapped out when I tried to push it on slightly misaligned. The pro is that it's not Snell rated, but is British and DOT approved. It was also comfortable enough and not too loud. The con is that the faceshield mechanism is a piece of crap. Probably been improved since, mine is about 5 years old. |

Best thing I like about the Suomy ( I have a Spec 1-R ) is the total lack of neck torque when I turn my head a high speed. The graphics are top notch. Love the lid. Very comfy, fits my head well. Noisy, and I think it's the face shield hinge cover, since blocking the neck gap with my hands at speed does nothing. Ear plugs/phones are a good idea with any helmet. The best helmet is one that fits you. |

I have the Suomy Spec-1R Hodgson Laguna replica, it's extremely lightweight, has excellent visibility and aerodynamics, but is quite loud- that's why it's my dedicated track day helmet. I love it...

I have the extreme and I love it..... Lightest and best fitting helmet I've ever owned... I was a big Arai fan but the Suomy is 2 steps ahead.. |

Id have to say By far its the most comfy lid I have ever owned the graphics are bad a**. The venting even tho you are unable to completely close works great. so far Im impressed. |

I also have a Spec-1R. Graphics are cool as hell, it weighs just about about nothing and it's easily the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. Downside is the face shield mechanism is total sh!t - far more complicated that it has to be. The sideplates you have to remove are annoying and a little difficult to get on right to first few times, and the require to use a tool to get them off (weather it be the tool they give you or something else like your bike key). It's just a convoluted process. Also, watch out for the "iridium-coated" shields as the iridium coating is SUPER delicate, and even cleaning it as per the instruction will result in rubbing the coating off. For a track day helmet, you can't do any better. For an "everyday" helmet it's not the best out there. The venting is great and despite being non-adjustable for the most part, I haven't had any problems with riding in temps below freezing. (Message edited by xl1200r on December 28, 2009) |

I have a Arai Doohan and a Bostrom Soumy, I like the Arai's snap windscreen but, the bottom liner did melt off one day in the dessert which Arai took care of. Havent had that problem with the Soumy. But I tend to buy a helmet based on the paint scheme and the racer who wears it, not the manufacturer. I think you'll dig your Soumy |

I have the Spec 1R Extreme Chief (Blue) Great fit, comfortable, doesn't fog up, light weight. Sizing runs a little small> I wear a large in my Arai Corsair RX7s and an Extra Large in Soumy Spec 1R Extreme. Also real nice not seeing your helmet at the local hang out on bike night. Good stuff worth the money to me. |

The shield mechanism on the Vandal is 200% better than the one on the Spec 1 models. I have raced a Vandal Bayliss graphic for the last 2 years, and it's been a great track helmet. They are a bit loud and the venting doesn't work very well at street speeds though. On the up side, they are very light, and the aerodynamics are pretty good with not a lot of head movement at race track speeds. Schmitty |

I do love the fact that not everyone has one. I had a buddy in south GA that bought one just for that reason so no one would have one like his. |

I love them... I've got 3 of them, 1 I no longer use as I wrecked in it. It did it's job beautifully, I had a very slight headache for a day afterward, considering how it looked it should have been far worst. I only use them on the track, because they are just too noisy to use for long street rides. |
