So ....... we went to the pet store to get fish food, and the wife came over holding these two. Her sales pitch was "they don't shed, they only grow to the size of a cat, they don't yap (too much), and you don't have to buy me diamond earrings if I can get these two" ... I think I was set up ...

They are Shi-poo's ... 1/2 Shih-Tzu and 1/2 toy poodle. They look to me more like a cross between Gizmo/Stripe from 'Gremlins' (for those who are old enough to remember that flick), and an Ewok from Star Wars. Great dogs, very good with the kids, and they really don't shed.

Ps- Don't feed them after midnight!

Nice pups Doug, and that is exactly what they look like!! LoL, yes I'm only 19 but yes I remember Gremlins (I wore out our VHS when I was little hehe)

Court - You have an awesome dog! And mine are really good to give a bath, it just took them some getting used to lol.

Jack is a hell of a mutt . . .

I'm digging those little guys too . . . Ewok was the first thing I thought when I saw them!

Sounds like we have a lot of of folks here. . . . they are as lovable as kids and never go to college!

What a deal!

They're easier to potty-train, sit when you tell them to, don't talk back, and give unconditional love ... and don't need braces to fix their underbites!

If only they could take care of us when we're old and senile ...

We have a Yorkie-poo, half Yorkshire-Terrier and half miniature Poodle. My mom has her half sister (same mom). Awesome dogs!! My brother just got a Shi-poo-just as nice and mild-mannered of a dog as mine, without so much barking.

This is Olivia , our Shih Tzu. She left the planet this summer--still miss her, but she was 16, she had a good run.

This is Morgan, Olivia's replacement. She's 4, we kinda rescued her from a puppy breeder. She's already had 4 litters, seemed like enough to us.

This pug/Griffon mix is the perfect playmate for our 125lb Shepherd.

Way fast and agile, she has left him and most any dog she bumps into spinning. She loves to play, but only the Greyhounds and Salukis have her kind of boundless energy - two speeds - sleep and play!
She can book like a bat out of hell, and turn on a dime - and just keeps dishing it to the Shepherd until even he gives up - lol - but she's keeping him young and has opened up his playful side a lot more, though tug a war is still hilarious - it tends to end when the Shepherd gets board - just drives her nuts though - he'll sit there patiently holding the rope while she just keeps tugging and pulling for all 35lbs worth - its the only game he wins at with here, and it keeps him happy - they are cute at the dog park and she always actively watches his back - lol

Thanks for all the input from everyone, and you all have some very cool animals at home.

Tomorrow morning the wife and kids and I are meeting the dogs for the first time and my wife is very excited at the idea of a new family member. Here's a few pix of the prospects. The Dad is a purebred standard poodle, and the mom is a purebred yellow lab.
