I just read the thread about Crohns.I'm sorry it has affected your lives, and I do hope a cure is found soon.
This thread pushed me to finally inquire as to if any of you fellow Buellers have Parkinson Disease, and if so does it affect your riding and how so.

Bob - wish I had some words of wisdom to add here. The only person I know with Parkinson works with M2nc and does not ride a motorcycle. Hopefully someone will post up some helpful information.

Take care of yourself.

Uly Wife, thanks for the reply. I'm curious to know how PD affects other bike riders. I'll have to look elsewhere. Thanks again.

I too have no personal experience nor know of anyone with PD that rides.

BUT

Michael J Fox, who has PD can barley walk but can still Ice skate better than most!

Not that Fox seems in any danger of becoming an recluse. To promote his new book, he taped an appearance on Oprah (scheduled to air today, check local listings), where he demonstrated he's still able to ice-skate. He plays a little hockey in Central Park with Dr. Mehmet Oz.

Thanks for the info Spidey.
Fox has had PD for most of his adult life, he was diagnosed at about 29. His form is generally called "early onset".
Thanks again for sharing the info.

My Dad had PD and died last Aug, he was 73. He never rode motorcycles but bought my first three bikes and got me started in Motocross Racing.
He was living with me for the last 5 years and the last year and a half was in a nursing home. He stopped driving at 70.

Two Buell: A belated condolence to you on the loss of your dad.
As you probably know PD affects your coordination and balance among other things, hence my interest.
I was diagnosed 3 years ago and probably was living with it 3 to 5 years prior. I was attempting t determine how much time I had left to enjoy my Buell.
Thanks and good riding to you
Bob
