Author Message   Iman501 Posted on Friday, December 11, 2009 - 05:30 pm:        alright guys, so i have a stock pipe and ECM for my bike that i am not using, b/c i have buells race pipe and its ECM on my bike. so i put the old pipe and ECM on CL for sale for $50 asking price. i have a guy who's rebuilding a 9r and is asking about my ECM to put onto his project bike, my bike is an 03 9r and his is an 07 9r. Would my 2003 stock ECM fit onto his newer 2007 project bike?....   Kustomklassix Posted on Friday, December 11, 2009 - 05:33 pm:        Well sure it would 'fit' LoL. It's not the same maps and from what I understand alot changed in the ECM from 03 to 07, but you may be able to re-map it with ECMSpy? Someone who knows more than me will chime in shortly. FORGOT TO ASK!!!! Why so cheap? You could get alot more than $50 for both of those separately? Well to be honest, i have only had one hit even on that low price, and he's not even certain if he wants it, he just wanted to know if it would work for him. i was just figuring since it was stock OEM and a stock pipe that it couldnt go for that much. besides, I dont really need it, its just going to sit in my barn. what would have been a good price for it?   Froggy Posted on Friday, December 11, 2009 - 06:03 pm:        It will not work, the 03 XB9 was DDFI-1 and the 07 is DDFI-2.   Iman501 Posted on Saturday, December 12, 2009 - 11:26 pm:        hey do any of you know when they made the switch to the DDFI-2 ECM?...   Froggy Posted on Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 12:09 am:        04 for XB12, while 05 for XB9. Both switched to DDFI3 for 2008. So, no reason that I could see that it would not work on an 07. 08 there were some major changes, but 07 should be the same. My 05 XB9SX uses the DDFI 2.
