Now that i have a couple bikes I'd like to keep them both hooked up to a tender for the long cold winter here in WNY. I'd like to put the permanent plugs on that some of the 1125s came with so my question is... Do I need multiple tenders or can i run multiple leads off one unit? |

Battery tender recently came out with a 4 port version, its on Amazon for like $160, it also comes with 4 sets of hookups for all your vehicles Oh, and I wouldn't recommend rigging up multiple bikes to be attached to a regular battery tender at the same time. |

You need separate tenders, I recommend Battery Tender Plus. Each one comes with a pigtail for the bike and a separate clamp on pigtail for when the battery is out of the bike. Husky |

I don't want to spend too much... so it looks like my best option would be to get a couple of the ones that come with a pigtail. Thanks |

I wonder why you can't connect two bikes to one tender. I'd think, if it can handle one large car/truck battery, why can't it handle two small motorcycle batteries? |

multiple batters will charge at different rates depending on size and how "used" they are. The tenders work by regulating the charge and it can't do that if you wire a few batteries together. They are pretty cheap really and last. I have one that I bought in 97 and it still works great |

The Battery Tender Jr. is your cheapest bet. Not as useful as the big versions, since it is only a trickle charger, but you can buy the leads for cheap, and swap the tender between bikes. There's no need to keep all of the bikes hooked up all of the time. |

I swap between 3 bikes and a 4 wheeler. Move the thing to a different vehicle at the start of every week. seems to work fine. |

FWIW I've had good luck with the Guest 2602A-12 charger. It's a 2A 3-stage charger, waterproof and the price is right. Propaganda here: http://www.marinco.com/product/2-amp-battery-charg er-2 Amazon wants $69 for it http://www.amazon.com/Guest-2602A-12-Battery-Maint ainer-Charger/dp/B000NI58TM But you can eBay it for less, I got a few last year for less than $20ea |

The battery tender website (the main brand one - can't remember the name now) .. claims that you can hook up multiple batteries in parallel and all of them will be maintained. I call BS. I've tried it with two perfectly good batteries and the furthest one from the tender wouldn't test good after sitting on the tender for two weeks. After hooking them each up seperately, they all work perfectly. I stumbled across a couple of cheap tender juniors, and the XT came with one free from the dealer. A tender plus with multiple cords from the same unit might be more convenient though. |

A termite walks into a bar and asks, "Is the bar tender here?" An ion walks into a bar and asks, "Is the battery tender here? |

I hooked up a rack of 5 big deep cycle batteries that were nearly fully charged to a tender...... and it melted. That's when I seen the tag that said "for small batteries"........./ |

I don't even bother using my tender Jr any more. I know its a trickle charge but I have put my ATV battery on it that was almost drained and it did nothing. Red light or what ever stayed on for over a week tried it and it did ņothin. I put it on a reg battery charger. Charged it up and it worked fine. |
