Anybody else see this??
quote:We had a wild snowstorm come through with 14 " of snow. But although it slowed down our work on setting up the new shop, it also blew in a great opportunity. Two crazy guys from Norway who are traveling around the world on 1937 Nimbus motorcycles with sidecars stopped by to visit Erik Buell Racing and got stuck here by... the storm. So they are doing some needed repairs while waiting for the weather to break a little. Check them out at www.kccd.no (best if you cut and paste in a new browser) Did y'all know that to repair the clutch on a Nimbus, you have to pull the motor and pull out the cranshaft?! Or that the kickstart return spring is in the oil sump? Last night I was happily scrubbing Mongolian mud off the crankcases in our parts washer. I do love machinery. Too cool. On one workbench an 1190RR, and right next to it a 1937 Nimbus. 750cc air cooled four cylinder with 22 horsepower. So hopefully by tomorrow the weather will improve and they'll be able to continue. But for now it's cool to listen to stories of travel through Kaazakstan. Hopefully I'll get a couple of photos of them in the shop to put up on-line. BTW, Tormod owns an XB12Ss, like you might expect for a crazy guy! Not enough of a challenge to take that around the world, though, he says.

That's awesome! It's also really cool that a Pennsylvania boy knows how to say "y'all". Seems like I remember reading a thread by these guys on advrider. There can't be THAT many Nimbuses around! [Edit- yes!] http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=419271 Get a load of this 2 main bearing 4 cylinder crankshaft! (Message edited by Hughlysses on December 09, 2009) |

It's also really cool that a Pennsylvania boy knows how to say "y'all" Umm - have you ever been to PA outside of Philly? I'm more surprised, with him originating from the Pittsburgh area, that he said "y'all" instead of "yunz". |
