He actually thanked HD in the video on the race website. I understand it, but then I don't. Sucks that HD seems to be his only option. |

Yes, he did thank H-D; truly a display of character on his part, I thought. H-D WAS his only option, now, who knows what he has up his sleeve................but there is a bunch of flat trackers who could seriously benefit from having someone like Erik on their side, now that MOCO has turned their backs on winners.............. |

truly a display of character on his part I've only met the man a couple of times, and they've been short encounters each time...but his thanking HD didn't surprise me in the least. Regardless of what you think about "kool-aid" and the like...Erik Buell is, in my eyes, the epitome of character. Taking the bikes totally out of the equation, his personality and business ethics are second to none in my book. Can't wait to see what EBR has on the horizon. If he needs a dealer in the mid-Atlantic....I'm IN! |

I didn't know he'd done that. That man seems to have a class and character about him that is above reproach. |

Love the bikes or hate them . . . the above is an indisputable fact I've never seen any deviation from in 20+ years. |

Hahahahaha . . easy to see why he is so out of place in the HD executive suites. |

LOL!! +1, Court. All I want for Christmas is a copy of "25 Years of Buell" in my stocking, hopefully signed by Erik and the book's authors... Any still out there? Not been to Whitehorse's site in a while... |

For the life of me I can't figure out what's in the background of that pic. Looks like a line of racecars... suspended overhead...? ~SM |

That structure of cars in the background looks like it was at the Goodwood Festival in the UK. They always feature some make or genre of cars and have a huge sculpture-like display of the feature. Looks like maybe Benz racecars or Marlboro sponsored cars or something. I'm sure a search of the Goodwood themes would clear it up and probably explain why EB was there. |

Did more searching here at home. It is Goodwood 2009. And can anyone identify this "Motorbike in front of Mansion"?

Flat-tracker with a water cooled 1125? Thoughts are endless!!! FWIW, flat trackers will tell you the way an XR750 develops power and puts it to the dirt is a unique combination, one so successful the combo has dominated the sport for decades over other manufacturers and power plants have yet to provide. Many more powerful mills have consistently lost to the venerable XR750 in the dirt track circuit. We raced both the XB platform and the Loki up Pikes Peak, half being dirt, half paved, 156 unique turns, and the 1125 is a handful in the corners. The XB is better suited to it. But the power of the Loki is unmistakable and as they pave more and more of the Pikes Peak course, that power is more usable climbing from 9,400 feet to 14,200 at the finish.

To 86129squids, I picked up a new copy of "25 Years of Buell" from Amazon.com for $16.95 and let my wife pick out a $10 book so we could get free shipping too. It made it here in less than a week. |
