Guys I need some help, with today being Cyber Monday, I was hoping somebody would know of a good deal on a Canon Rebel XS or XSi. |

Try Amazon.com or One Call.com They usually have a good a price as you are going to get. Look for no tax, and free shipping as well as price. Personally I would buy it "body only", as the "kit lens" is not very good, and very difficult to sell when you want to upgrade. I understand completely if you want to get a SLR, but I have been shooting for a year with the Canon G10, and now with the G11. I have made gallery quality 24x30's with that little camera, and it has gotten great reviews. The great advantage of this little guy is that you can always have it handy: hard to take a great picture if you left the camera at home. Here are some of the pictures I have taken with it: http://www.photomorse.com/site/Jonathan_Morse_Phot ographics/Landscapes.html |

Thanks Jon, I think I may just get a body for now and let her upgrade. |

I swear by my G-10. If I could only own one camera (Lord forbid) it'd be a G-11. |

I am in the market for the XSi kit lens. I got a Rebel XT, and my lens has seen better days and now has mold or something growing on the inside of the glass. So if you do end up with a kit and want to part with the lens, drop me a note |

According to Slickdeals, you can get an XSi kit for $471.20 from Dell. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1705 703 |

You'll enjoy it. There are darn few "bad" cameras you can buy these days. |

You'll love it. I've had an XSi for a little over a year now and have really gotten some great shots. I've thought about starting an open topic thread on photography, I've done it on a couple of other forums and it's gone really well. |

I bought a Canon D60 Body many years ago. I upgraded the Body to a Canon D40 last year. Canon DSLR’s are the best. I have two Pro “L” lenses. A 70-200mm f4 L and a 17-40mm f4 L, a 50mm f1.8 and the kit lens that came with the D40 is a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is an upper-mid-grade consumer lens with image stabilization and a great focal length range for around 400 bucks. I've been looking at getting a point and shoot for a while and I think the Canon G11 will be it. I also want a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM |

I'm pretty stoked. I've used an Xti for two years now here at work and like it. I went with a kit because I want her to use it right away on Christmas and am not really sure about lenses. What's a better than stock lens for an XS? |

China the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is an upper-mid-grade consumer lens with image stabilization and a great focal length range for around 400 bucks. Its a pretty good lense for the money this pic was taken with it.

Shit I still use an old school 35mm SLR by Minolta it works just fine and up until two or three years ago took better photos than most affordable Digital SLR. I also disable the AF most of the time as it is a nuisance. I still like film better but I have a feeling i too will have to give in to the digital age. |

Dana, that is one dangerous looking bicycle. Looks like it might attack at any moment! Here is a nice shot I took with the G11. Great little camera.

I am also a Canon G10 owner. Upper end point and shoot seemed to be a better option than a lower end SLR for me. Takes great photos, camera is compact and durable. |

My suggestion is to stay in the digital SLR's then mabe a 400 telefoto, polarized filter mabe a tele-macro combo, Tripod, with remote trigger, nice bag. Personally, I'm photographing with a $150 Canon digitel, but my pro stuf is done with a Canon SLR Rebel, with Fuji 200 typically though the film depends, diferent asi's, but DO go digital ofcourse, I think the choice you indicated is excelent though. |

Mike here are a few shots that I took during a Patriots open practice a couple of days after I got the lens from you. I'm still learning but having fun doing it. These were taken from about 1/2 to a full football field away. A few were cropped but that's it.

I sold my G10 not too long ago, very nice, was very happy with it, but it just hadn't been getting much use since my new 7D showed up. |

Jim, That shot was bracketed with four exposures, one stop apart and then composited in Photomatix to make a so-called High Dynamic Range , (HDR) photo. The reason I used HDR in this case, is that was the only way I could get the reflection of the sky in the foreground pools in the marsh. Photomatix is a $200 plug in for Photoshop. |
