I say you make 'concert only' tickets for those that missed the banquet tickets, and use that new ticket money to fund the rental of an outdoor stage and/or tent (to allow for the larger amount of people than are legally allowed indoors). This is supposed to be the biggest homecoming ever, but we're limiting the main event to 300 people? Seems counterproductive. As a disclaimer, I am in no way dissing these guys that are working on making the event happen. They have already done better than I could. I'm stoked for the event and think it will be awesome no matter how it turns out. |

Problem with your idea Mike is the 300 tickets that are sold are for the banquet and CONCERT. I highly doubt your going to get many people who already bought concert tickets to pay even more. I also don't think there are many people out there that will justify "concert only" tickets. But i have been wrong before. |

I just think that nobody expected this kind of turn out... Rocco, Dana and Steve deserve HUGE credit for pulling this together. |

there were more than 300 tickets available. That's what we had on paypal only. We also received orders via snail mail and had donations for former BUELL employees to attend. In reality, we're looking at between 400-425 attendees. I, for one, never mentioned or billed this as the biggest Homecoming ever. I also believe that organized banquets in the past had a maximum capacity. Maybe they just never got close to capacity. Please keep in mind that we're doing this on OUR time for FREE. Steve, Dana and I all have jobs, families and other things that take up time. We're doing it cause we don't want to see a good thing end. We're trying our best and learning as we go. IF we decide to take on this challenge again next year, we will have learned from our mistakes and know what works and what doesn't. We aren't finished yet. All the suggestions mentioned have been thought up before. Remember, Alpine Valley is a Hotel and they may have other guests there. I don't think we can just throw a tent up and have the band play. They're allowing us to park our bike along the sidewalk that runs around the hotel which is pretty good of them. We are by no means professional event planners, and never claimed to be. I already spent too much time doing this. Just ask my Wife or Son. We're doing our best. Also, Steve, Dana and I bought tickets for ourselves and family. We don't even get in for free. I just hope people can be honest enough to not try and crash the banquet and at least have enough respect for those that paid. Also, anything bad that happens will reflect poorly on us AND Erik Buell in the fact that we're there to honor him. I personally don't want to give the BUELL name a black eye. Thank you all. I just got back as I type this from working on a T-shirt design that I should have a proof for mid next week. Pay attention to www.buellhomecoming.com to purchase a great event T-shirt soon. One step at a time. The three of us are doing what ever we can to make this right. Now I need some cold meds. This is kicking my Butt. |

Hey all youn's whupaiisss Buell buddies- as we get closer to the actual date, I may be able to commit to helping as needed. Provided I can take the time off work within the week of the event, I'd be happy to assist in any way possible. (You will require more manpower than you expect right now.) This will be quite interesting, as far as event management goes- once the capabilities of the resort staff are clarified, volunteers will become quite helpful. Any available crowd overflow options should be on the table. |

I also don't think there are many people out there that will justify "concert only" tickets. I don't want to make banquit ticket holders pay more... they already have tickets. I just wanted to open another option for those thousands of Buellers that aren't on Badweb or missed there opportunity, and that may come across the homecoming website or info over the next six months. I was thinking half price tickets simply for the concert. Think of it like a cover charge. Problem is, if you start selling more concert tickets, then you'd HAVE to secure a tent/stage/larger venue for the concert, and then you must question whether the tickets will cover it or not. And that answer most likely will not come until much closer to the event time. Since the down payments and such are being funded 100% by people and not large companies, I can see how taking that risk would be a bad idea. I cannot stress enough how much respect I have for you guys that are arranging everything. I really don't want this to sound like I don't like what you're doing or anything like that. I simply wanted to throw out an idea I had. |

I think Buffet (Warren, not Jimmy) holds the first or second hand in the H-D card game currently underway (not counting backers and underwriters not sitting at the publically visible table) so those of you looking at another buyout have more than just the non-rider figurehead to deal with. Much like the last six months of Buell related news, there is more to the story than is publically known (or BadweB disclosed). Speaking of Buffet, or rather about the dinner and concert, I don't intend to gate crash, but I do recall from Homecoming venues at Lake Geneva and Oconomowoc Olympic Resort that there was stuff to see and enjoy without actually getting to be inside. So just maybe someone will leave a window open so some of the sounds can filter out for those hanging out outside. Just a thought since I don't know where I'll be whenever this event is. (I wonder if that campground has a monthly rate in case, well, just in case....) The organizers are doing a great job, and I don't think anyone has even asked Hal's to provide a pancake breakfast yet. Gotta run
