Somewhere on BadWeb someone lamented that the Harley closure of Buell in October seemed to generate ZERO press from the printed magazines.

I just wanted to point out that the January 2010 issue of Rider Magazine that I've had for over a week now reports on it TWICE.

First, Mark Tuttle dedicated his column, One Track Mind" to the issue: "Buell Send-Off, Farewell and good luck to Buell USA and the entire team in Wisconsin. Thanks for all the good times." In my opinion, it is a very good article that ends with an optimistic outlook ("Odds are we haven't seen the last of Erik Buell").

Then, over in the "Kickstarts" pages, there is ANOTHER mention of the shutting down of Buell (and this time mentioning the sale of MV Agusta).

So there ARE magazines that have taken note. Unfortunately, none of them are asking the kinds of questions we'd like asked (minus one magazine in Australia, obviously).

That was probably me I was pissed the AMA mag didn't have anything on it but I kneejerked that response. I will wait till the new round of mags start to come out through the next couple weeks and we will see. I still don't think alot of media will give us the report the BMC deserves but a few will.

A probable reason for the apparent "Zero press" is due to the lag between the time when magazines go to press and are subsequently released. IIRC it's roughly 5 - 6 weeks.
Internet response, on the other hand, tends to be several days prior to the event actually happening.
