Ok, so I still have my Uly and plan on keeping her. Was planning on getting an xb12r to complement her, just wasn't planning on doing it this soon. But, here we are with the last of the new bikes and bigtime discounts! So, what do you guys think about parts and service availability? I've read all the recent threads. Local dealer (2 hrs away) is Old Fort HDB in Fort Smith AR, and they claim to be offering Buell service till 2017. Do any of you think parts availability would be better for the 1125r instead of the 12r? maybe because EBR bikes will be based on them? At this point I'm thinking the xb12r would be easier to get parts for, as it's almost the same power plant and shares parts with the 06 Uly (so there's more out there, and I have one of them). Let me know what you think. I've found awesome deals on both bikes, but am leaning to 12r at this point, though the 1125 sounds awesome. thanks! |

If Buell street bikes are ever made again, they'll be 1125 based and not air cooled. As things are parts availability should be the same. If it were my call, I'd get the 1125r. 12r would be too similar the the Uly. If I'm gonna have two bikes, I'd want their to be a real difference in riding experience between the two. That's only an opinion, and YMMV. |

Thanks, BLF, that's a logical thought. I've never ridden the 12r, just the Uly and the 98S1W before it. I bet the 1125 would be significantly different. |

Get the 12R. It's magic for all the same reasons you love the Uly and S1W. The 1125 is significantly different, just not magic. Ride them back to back, you'll see. |

Hmmm, different viewpoints there but undeniably sound advice. Go ride em both before buying. +1. And I wouldn't be too worried about parts availability for the XB, there are enough passionate people out there to keep them going, & there's not much to go wrong that can't be replaced with an equivalent part or something else or bodged. |
