Since there is a thread about preparing the Thanksgiving bird, how about answering one about the best side to go with it?

I prefer my mom's corn bake over the traditional stuffing!

Happy Thanksgiving every one!! If you are traveling, please be safe!!

Well you can't have stuffing without a slice of can-shaped cranberry sauce.
This year I'm actually going to make fresh cranberry sauce... I'll probably get all kinds of weird looks from the girlfriends family.

My wife has done her home made stuffing for the past 22 years. I have had nothing better. Family members are always trying to take a bowl of it with them. They know I will shoot the first one that crosses the door step with any in hand!

My Mom's Homemade stuffing followed up with her Homemade Pumpkin Pie. I will always miss those.

We don't do thanksgiving over here, but these all sound awesome.
I guess if we did I would do mini cheesy corn cob loaf (kind of like fondue) and smashed potatoes with garlic and sour cream. Lemonchili does love stuffing though, so cranberry
and macadamia nut stuffing would more than likely be on the menu too.
Maybe sweet potato curly fries?

My wife and I quit the turkey/ham thing years ago.

For the Thanksgiving meal we pick a culture.

We've done French, Italian, Greek, Mexican, Cajun Creole, Moroccan and Spanish.

Tomorrow we are doing an Indian meal.

We considered an Icelandic meal one year, but trying to ferment shark in the ground got to be a bit much.

Paula Dean's Cornbread stuffing. I have been making this for years now. It is the best!
Here is the recipe:

I am leaving all the other stuff such as sides and desserts to the other family members. Turkey and stuffing is my responsibility : )
