Since it's not directly affiliated/owned by Harley and I am guessing they will have their own parts and swag to sell, any chance of them becoming a sponsor? |

I guess he better cause right now he's getting tons of free publicity on BadWeB. Blake will have his work cut out for him deleting all these non-sponsor threads.

I formally invited him to become a BW sponsor a couple of days ago. He said he planned to and that he would probably become "official" in December. |

I wonder if Blake has thought about creating a board for him. Maybe "Ask Erik" or something like that. Just in case he ever does decide to become a member. |

Some folks' money is no good here; Court, Dave Gess, and Erik Buell for instance. They give back to the Buell community more than any of us can afford to pay. I'll personally pay for sponsorship for anything they care to advertise here. They'll just need to provide the banner file(s). Which reminds me... Dave, Christmas is approaching and I'm still waiting on that banner! (Message edited by blake on December 01, 2009) |

(I already told Erik that he had put in enough "sweat equity" to cover his sponsorship costs.) |

Why are we so wrapped up in monetary exchanges? Erik Buells contribution to these parts is immeasurable and invaluable. Suffice it to say, a year or three of complimentary sponsorship would seem reasonable while things get rolling. But I have no say in such matters, just thinking out loud. |

Just as a side note, an EBR was a French light reconnaissance tank, with a 75mm gun. An innovative design had 8 wheels all with drive capability, the middle 4 would lift to run on the road & it would do 60mph in either direction as it had fully reversible transmission & a driving position at each end. |

Completely reversible at top speed for faster retreats? Sorry, I couldn't help myself. |

>>>Just as a side note, an EBR was a French light reconnaissance tank, with a 75mm gun. Have you the technical drawings for the gun . . . things are early enough in the design stages that it may be prudent to incorporate the gun. I always liked the line in Kelly's Hero's where he's explaining that they have the tanks geared to go faster in reverse than forward and explains . . . . "we like to think we can get out of trouble faster than we can get in". |

Ooohhh - fully reversible!!! Good catch, that one! I had the task of helping Michael Lichter do a photo shoot for Baker that had one such tranny. I don't have the technical drawings, but I do have some spy photos from R&D. My job, being November, among other things was to wrap the technician in a blanket between shots. Here she is trying out the torque load in reverse (note chain & rubber pile in front of the rear tire) Puts new meaning to the term: "smokem till the wheels come off..." Tough work, when you can get it.
Rear tire went 3-1/2 inches in to the asphalt
