BTW, I miss my '96 Green Bay. As with a lot of other GB fans, we'll live vicariously through '09 Minnesota. (Message edited by Phelan on November 23, 2009) |

I miss the 94-96 Broncos. I recently had to get rid of my 95 all-black Eddie Bauer, but it was part of my own 200 year plan, which included picking up the Uly shortly afterward. Man I miss that rig, though. Oh, were those not the Broncos you were speaking of? I sure didn't think a Vikings thread would get to two pages this quickly here. True it might be too early to be thinking about the big Bowl, but I'd say the Div is all-but clinched. Then again, I'm pretty biased... |

Danger_dave Posted on Monday, November 23, 2009 - 05:22 pm: Lions surge to 2-a lot. I'm just glad that, for the first time in my life they are showing signs of having a legit NFL qb. No offense to Scott Mitchell or Andre Ware. |

10-1! Only 5 games left in the regular season. Here's to hoping for an equally amazing postseason! BTW, Favre's QB rating for the season is over 112! |

Looking good, but still 3rd best. Pray you don't have any outdoor playoff games. Favre wilts like lettuce in the cool night air. |

If it continues like this, all them games will be in the Metrodome anyway . Third best statisticly, only until NO loses tonight. Then 2nd best . |

If the playoffs started today the vikes would have to go to the dome in new orleans for the NFC championship game. Does it really make you cheese heads angry when old uncle Brett calls this team the best he's ever been on? |

Not when they have people like AP and Allen . Green Bay will mature- they're still one of, if not the, youngest rostered teams in the league. |

"Does it really make you cheese heads angry when old uncle Brett calls this team the best he's ever been on?" Not really, because it's the truth. If you took this team and played the 96 Packers, I don't even think it would be a contest. But let's not put the apples in front of the cart...the 09 Vikes have yet to win anything, hell, they aren't even out of the regular season yet. Historically, the Queens fold like lawn chairs in January. |

The Bears did not look good-36 to 10 ouch! The Vikes always crumble in the first playoff game but man they are tough this year. Favre can do no wrong, every pass is right on. I think the playoffs will be better this year. |

"Favre can do no wrong, every pass is right on." That's what Jet's fans were saying the first half of last year too. |

Badlions Fan, I must be way older than you, cuz as a kid I loved Fran Tarkenton. Man, I've seen the guy speak on sports shows since, and I can say, "No shortage of self-esteem on that boy!" I had to turn the channel about the 10th time in a minute he talked about how awesome he was! -Roadrash1 |

I watched thatvid last night on the Vikes site. Freakin' funny. I doubt Brady has that much fun in a game. "I know, I saw it. I threw it. I had a good seat." hilarious. |

The best part is how he's a positve influence with words of praise and encouragement to everyone around him. In my opinion it speaks a lot more of him than any records or win could. |

Yeah I kinda fit my 13 boot in my mouth with that comment lol. One of the ESPN commentators tonight did say that of the NFL teams on top right now, the Vikes are the only team they feel has the defense to pull an upset in the playoffs/SB. |

I gotta say, Favre is my favorite player of all time. He's like Terry Bradshaw, super-sized. He just loves to play. All the bitter Green Bay fans oughta be bitter against the Packer management who thought he was over the hill. This guy is a fourty year old quarterback and he throws himself into blocks with total abandon. |

It had zero to do with his skills, it had everything to do with Favre holding his TEAMMATES and the Packers hostage for at least three off seasons. |

It kinda got swept under the rug just exactly the depth of which Favre jerked his team and fans around before he retired, and how many times he did it. GB management pandered to his ego and begged him back 7 TIMES IN THREE OFFSEASONS before he retired. Drama queen. I bet he does it again, no matter how far the vikes go this year. If they lose in a shootout to the saints (VERY LIKELY) in the NFC Championship game, he will be butt hurt and talk retirement. If they win, everyone will tell him to retire on top. The 96 Packers had the best D in the NFL(GB only allowed 7 more points all season than MN has allowed through 11 games!), the best special teams, and a pretty great offense. Jared Allen is a star, but Reggie White was one of the greatest of all times. Percy is talented, but Desmond Howard was the best in the league. Andre Rison? Antonio Freeman? Dorsey Levens? Sounds like the vikings offense to me, a bunch of guys who are playing well together right now but arent talented enough to be big time names in ten years(aside from AP). The only thing that could give an edge to these vikings is AP, and the better play of Favre himself. (or rather, he isnt popping 30 Vico a day and making poor decisions on the field, go figure) The Vikings are a great team and they are fun to watch, but the packers beat the almighty Chargers and 49ers(twice!) that year, and they won the big one. The vikes havent beaten anyone as iconic or powerful as those Chargers or 49ers, and they have lost to a mediocre steelers team. The Vikes have to win the big one to be in the discussion with that packers team. Also, there is a difference between most talented, and best. In 2004, the packers played the colts on monday night. The packers had a great explosive offense with Javaon Walker and Ahman Green, and the Colts were setting their own records that year. It was supposed to be a shootout for the ages. It started out hot, if i remember correctly, with teams trading one play scoring drives early on. Our Dipstick coach Sherman decided to pull in the reigns and pound the running game in the second half, and the Colts ran away with it. I would love to see the great gunslinger himself in a real shootout with the Saints. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Darren Sharper has owned Favre since he left GB, and he is having a record breaking season. |
