I just picked up a PS3 last night and couldn't figure out which game to get. Metal Gear: Guns of the Patriots is in the top 10. What are the games every collection should have? |

XB360 Keep the PS3 for Blue Rays. Why do people say this sort of thing...Name one thing XB360 has on PS3? The green circle of death, perhaps? |

Burnout is a fun game. I don't play that much but I am looking for a good air fighting game. Any suggestions? |

Uncharted for sure. The first is great, I have yet to play the new one, which is supposed to be even better. |

Infamous is really good! i have a hard time finding games that capture me. this one was very addictive. i just wished it had a multi player option. i think the xbox has a total advantage over the ps3 with its xbox live. but for the most part they are about the same. but the xbox doesn't have the blue ray player. which is the reason i switched from xbox 360 to the ps3. |

My Xbox 360 died in the spring. It's replacement died shortly thereafter. I'm not rabid gamer. My original had MAYBE 30 hours of total gameplay. The second? 10 hours. COD:MW2 is on the top of my list. I loved COD:MW and WaW. Infamous looks pretty cool |

Name one thing XB360 has on PS3? I'll bite. First, I'm not here to preach - if you love the PS3 that's great. Don't try and tell me the Wii is the best though - j/k. 1. Personally, I prefer the 360 controller. 2. Xbox Live. Having setup Live in the days of the Xbox1, Microsoft has the heads up on online content and play. It's why more than half of all 360's around the world are on Live. The cost is nominal, one can find 12 or 13 month prepaid cards on buy.com or ebay for around $40, $30 when they go on sale. Having the nominal cost barrier also helps keep the grade of players up slightly imo. In addition to game add-ons, there are tons of classic arcade games, Xbox1 and Xbox 360 games available for download. Add in the Netflix streaming, Last.fm and the ability to purchase or rent most movies and TV shows (in HD too) and it's worth every penny. You can also watch the same Netflix movie across multiple 360's while chatting with friends in a "party" - adding your own MST3k style commentary if you like. The live 1 vs 100 games really are groundbreaking. You have an actual live host, and "the mob" is made up of real players. It's an event you essentially tune in to, more than it is a scripted game. Answer the questions right and you win actual prizes redeemable on Live. That alone is "one thing" 360 has on PS3. 3. The game library. While obviously you'd need a PS3 for Sony exclusives, the 360 has been out longer and has the bigger (I'm talking actual 360 and PS3 games, not the old ones) library. They also frequently have game add-ons and upgrades. Yes, the PS3 has this as well - but consider GTA4, with the most copies sold in one day for a video game ever. There are now 2 additional expansion packs (completely new episodic stories) that are only on the 360. 3. Graphics power and ease of coding. The 360 is almost universally preferred by game developers - I could link to countless articles about how the architecture yields easier, more cost-effective game development. They all sound about like this: "The XBOX 360 is a clear winner. The GPU is more powerful. It has more powerful fillrate, and far more pixel and vertex processing horsepower. Part of the reason is their choice of memory, and architecture of pixel and vertex processing. I can't get into details but the same vertex shader will run much slower on the PS3 than the XBOX 360. The 360 also has a clever new way rendering high definition anti aliased back buffers. To accomplish the same effect on PS3 is prohibitively expensive. For this reason I think many games will have no choice but to run in non-HD resolutions on the PS3 version, use a lower quality anti aliasing technique, or do back buffer upscaling. The end result in all cases is going to be noticeably worse image quality." That would explain why GTA4 is full 720p on the 360, and 630p on the PS3. You can actually thank many of those upset developers for the recent PS3 price-drop, as some of them threatened to cut PS3 support outright if it wasn't lowered. The general gist was that it wasn't worth struggling to make a PS3 version of their game only to have it outsold on the 360. 4. Microsoft. If I am going to support a large, evil corporate entity - why not make it the American one? I think all gaming fans should be happy that MS came on the gaming scene, whether they support them or not. Sony was getting too big for it's britches, they were even threatening retailers who took orders for competing systems. I don't want to even think about what this gaming generation would be like if your choices were only the PS3 or Wii. The green circle of death, perhaps? This is irrelevant unless you are buying a used 360. The console has been updated several times since the original, which did have a propensity for over-heating. Microsoft also extended the warranties on the launch 360's from one year to three - you will not have to pay for a RROD repair. My launch console finally "Red Ringed" on me about 6 months ago. Microsoft mailed out pre-paid packaging and I had it back inside 3 weeks. Of course, I could have fixed it myself - it's cake, I bought two off of ebay and fixed them. But I wanted my warranty intact on that one..... |

1. I prefer the PS3 controller, which is a huge thing for me. XBOX feels out of place to me, like it was not made to fit the hand. 2. PS3 has all that. Minus 1vs100...Not sure what that is, so I can't comment. Oh, and I don't have to pay $40 for online. 3. Hmmm...PS3 supports full 1080P. Seems that any limitation would be due to just that the PS3 has not been around as long, and is not yet being utilized to its full extent? 4. I'll give you this one on the American company factor. Though they already get enough of my money...I can spread it around a bit and not feel bad. |

My keyboard doesn't fit in my hand either, but I love it

$40? I spend $180 a year on World of Warcraft, assuming I keep it going year round.

There is a difference between supporting it and actually doing it. Your Buell's speedometer will register 180mph, let me know how it goes getting up there My computer supports 1600p, but I can't run many games at that setting without causing performance issues. Oh, and since when was MS a evil corp? We wouldn't be talking on Badweb today if it wasn't for MS. BTW, the Wii is my only current gen console, and that only gets occasional use as my PC is my main rig. |

- You cannot comfortably play many games from a keyboard, which is why they have console style controllers for USB. - $180 per year? More power to you...I pay to buy the game, so I have no intention of paying additional fees to play parts of its built-in functionality. - Your comments about support make no sense. You do know that the PS3 has a number of titles that work perfectly at 1080p, right? Further, I just personally checked GTA4 on my PS3...Three display modes: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Regarding the Buell, 180mph is not in the specifications of the motorcycle, regardless of whether one part of the motorcycle has a component that will handle it. As far as your computer, we are likely again looking at a situation of the whole being only as strong as the sum of its parts. The graphics card in your computer may very well handle a resolution like WQXGA (2560x1600), though performance issues could be seen if another component is not properly compatible. Have you tried reducing hardware acceleration? - Who said MS is an evil company? I am a proud MS advocate. Also, lets note that the BadWeb format is akin to Windows 95...Lets get some Silverlight up in here! - The Wii sucks. (Message edited by ponti1 on November 23, 2009) |

Infamous was good, COD MW2 is awesome, Battlefield: Bad Company, Assassins Creed 1 and 2. Also with the PS3 if you have a Netflix subscription you can download free movies to the PS3. By far the best gaming console I've ever had. I've given them all a try... |

PS3 looks and acts more refined than the Xbox. It looks and acts more like a PC. I loved my 360 till someone gave me a PS3 for a wedding present. Now my 360 elite collects dust. |
